bridges

Post by arjan »

maybe it would be cool and a big strategical advantage to, have bridges that you can lower or pull up.. like the SF stuff had the elevators :? :

,, you and youre squad spotted an huge convoi of armor ahead of the bridge, and you say trough VOIP, theres an huges armor division moving up the bridge! than the squad (defending the bridge point) closes the bridge and you can settup an ambush near the bridge ,, ;)

A defensive feature usually a large empty ditch or a ditch filled with water. Most commonly used in medieval times to defend castles.

Its also an abreviation for `Mother of all turds`

I see, well that would be up to othe mappers and coders and modellers to model it, code it and use it in a map.

Why not? It would add a fun element to the map.

mmm. How about rope bridges as deployable commander assets :)

That would come in handy on quite a few maps.

no my idea was to make an bridge that you can lower and take up.. like you have the stuff of bf2 SF with the elevators ,, NO commander assets please,, i think a bridge as commander asset sucks

geo i doubt it would work, because usually when you deplay an asset its in the air... the vehicles would have a hard time traveling over the bridge if its in the air yea ?... lol

Why do you think it would "suck"? I do understand it's something else you suggested and my idea was meant as an alternative to yours.

I can also see the problem of making a rope bridge deployment realistic (although i have a few idea). But I fail to see why it would plain and simply suck.

Also, a quickly deployed rope bridge is not intended for vehicles, only infantry.à

For vehicles, it would be nice to have something like the M60A1 AVLB or the Titan.
