Thought of a quick storyline...
The Chinese has several AA batteries on these islands (name?)
In order to get thier bombers through, the US forces are now advancing towards the islands and preparing for a large scale assault.
Due to the heavy AA presence in the area the US will have no heavy airsupport.
Chinese intel repports are saying that US forces are advancing and will be there in a few hours.
The Chinese commander sets up hasty defences and sends out boat patrols to scout and engage possible enemy scouts.
Might not be that realistic but the best I could think of yesterday while reading the new Harry Potter and driving home.

thats pretty good. that actually solves the problem of jets and would definitely encourage boat usage. thanks.ZaZZo wrote:Thought of a quick storyline...

Glad you like it.bunny wrote:thats pretty good. that actually solves the problem of jets and would definitely encourage boat usage. thanks.
Also I've seen some boat combat and Qwai River, first time me and a fella known as Kilted ran into a full boat full of Americans, we owned them after serious boat to boat combat. And I can tell yer boat-boat combat is just amazing. You have a highly mobile SAW on front and to win you need to work as a team, and prioritise targets and stuff.
Another time I played with some guys from a clan I unfortunately forgot the name of.
Well we ran into three enemy boats, made a quick right turn into some sort of bay gunsblazing backwards while we had three enemy boats on our tail. One of them stranded (noob sailor
We reached the end of the bay and bailed out, waiting for them to come into our ambush, I dropped a mine and C4 on our boat.
One of the enemies came up bailed out of his boat and started exploring the area, BOOM! And he was gone with his boat gunner.
Then the other came up and killed my mates, and I lagged to death.
But those two battles were amazing.

I kinda like your idea. But then there shouldnt be any armor on tht map.bunny wrote:Heres an idea: How about a map made largely of water, but the CPs are on small islands (about the range that you can cap a CP in size). One side would start on a carrier and the other on a larger island. This is entirely realistic. When a volcanic island erodes away, some of the higher elevations stay above water. This creates a system of small islands surrounded by shallow water. A map like this would create many dogfights and boat-to-boat combat, something not often seen in BF2. It would probably be located somewhere in the Pacific, near China perhaps. So this would be a good US/Britain vs. China map. What do you guys think?

sounds fun. I have never actually been in boat-on-boat combat but seeing a scenario like this you can see why i came up with this idea.ZaZZo wrote:Glad you like it.
