@ gazzthompson

[R-DEV]Stigger had the best marksman scores in the line ranges, however both groups of 5 (we were split into two groups) did worse on the ranges, but totally killed the scenario round where enemy troops were dropped off via Chinook and then tried to advance up a hill to our position to over-run us. The neat thing was that the instructor was able to dynamically change what was on screen. This included optics usage (NV/IR), flares, fog, enemy/friendly units and vehicles etc...The graphics quality on all of the simulators including the Small Arms Trainers was Quake 1 at best, but they calculated bullet drop and wind accordingly, so they had a touch of PR/ArmA in them. :p

The best setup was that of the Warrior gunnery trainer which was bought just a few months ago for several million £s. It used LCD monitors to display the views inside the vehicle. However, and I think I speak for most on the team that went on this trip, the Challenger 2 driving simulator was the funnest :p .

This is amazing! Most of the time you only see this kind of stuff being done with offical Games and then they fuge up every thing anyway when the add it in.

This is going to make the PR mod the most played and realistic BF2 mod ever in the world. ROCK ON PR!

Who's [R-DEV]Sim? And yeah, I know the feeling when you actually get to see what you see in games in person. I was in an M1A1 just this Monday. GD Canada didn't allow cameras though.

I've also been next to a BMP. It was a BMP-1 at the war museum, and was not that small.

Oh, and how is that LAW-80 upside-down? the optics are supposed to face up, aren't they?

The optic flips out to the left horizontally on that!

Image

When powered on, you get some floating lines in that tiny little square in the optic to range onto moving armour with.

This pic taken just after the infamous upside down/back to front pic, once the optic had been flipped out and I was on that side with my camera to take the shot (really, I was about to noobtube the guy 10ft in front of me, but that's another story.....................)
