use of the ak-47
something i don't get is why people are using the ak-47 in the game like it's a rifle the thing was built to be a machine gun because it was made for the ww2 russian tank crew so it had to shoot fast not accurate because the enemy was trying to light the tank on fire place bombs or fire rockets or nades at it. so you had to get as many bullets as you can at them so you don't die.
also if the ak-47 is as accurate as the other infantry weapons in the game them the devs has to fix it along with the vehicles and other weapons.

Give me a rule or something and I'll find a way around it or tell you how to make it work

No ExOps, the AK-47 was designed to be a USSR infantry weapon by a man named Kalasnakov (spelling...?). He was a tanker, yes, but a conscript. His weapon design was for a "cheap, easy to maintain weapon". Because it's so reliable it cuts down how long it takes to teach someone to repair it. It fields strips easy, and doesn't jam easy. This is because when you have a mass conscript army, you're bound to get stupid people. The weapon is short range and has little accuracy but that fits in very well with the old Soviet doctrine of human wave assaults and mass fire power.
EDIT: Funny thing is, the designer wishes he had invented the Lawn mower instead -- he doesn't see a dime from any one of those weapons.

1.AK-47 is not a PDW - they aren't issued for tank crewssomething i don't get is why people are using the ak-47 in the game like it's a rifle the thing was built to be a machine gun because it was made for the ww2 russian tank crew so it had to shoot fast not accurate because the enemy was trying to light the tank on fire place bombs or fire rockets or nades at it. so you had to get as many bullets as you can at them so you don't die.

2.AK-47 is not a machine gun - machine guns usually have belt-feed sistems
3.AK's sistem is based on WWII experience , and that experience was about lack of time to properly clean weapons or have to learn how to shoot\maintain it for months .
4.As the inventor says himself , he wanted to make cheap & reliable weapon that can replace rifles , carbines , SLR's , SMG's , etc. - small arms , in brief . Actually he succeed .
Not again...I see this **** all the time . If Stg.44 and AK-47 look pretty much the same doesnt mean that they are the same inside .And considering he basically raped the STG-44 design of the Nazi's who intended it as a shock troop assault weapon....yeah.....
Michail Kalashnikov , 88 years old , still alive , still working on improvement of his AK'sNo ExOps, the AK-47 was designed to be a USSR infantry weapon by a man named Kalasnakov (spelling...?)
by the way , the round for AK-47 was primary designed for heavy SMG's ( they never entered service as they had major problems with weight )
So don't expect a lot from a round developed for an SMG .

Well the SKS is a nice rifle and fires the same round but yeah, the x39 was for smaller weapons (god I can't imagine firing a 7.62x39 SMG...f*cking ow...)
Hell, if I had to be dropped on some alien world with an earth like biosphere, My two weapons of choice would be a knife and an AK-47, no exceptions, period.

hey, once you get that cleaning kit...the m16 isnt that bad. lol
but i'd disagree with you.
there are more modern rifles that are more accurate, with less recoil, easier to maintain (yes, i said that), don't break as often (again...the iraqi army is now getting all their ak's replaced)
mikhael kalashnikov's son recently developed a new design which was simpler, more accurate, and easier to use and maintain than his father's rifle.
there's the whole line of HK weapons-the best in the world if you ask me.
the m14/m1 garand, always a trusty rifle.
Modular weapons systems
G11 or the like- caseless ammo (lighter, faster firing, more accurate, no spent brass casings trail to follow, etc.)
blah bady blah
oh and yes, this thread deserves to be locked.

I sometimes drop the M16 for AK's on Desert Storm.
Devs, I recall someone saying that the Insurgent accuracy was nurfed compared to the GB/US/PLA/MEC team's accuracy -- is this a factor of the team, or the weapon? And is the Militia accuracy nurfed any?

All the basic classes except SF has body armour now.Lampshade111 wrote:All I know is that 0.6 seems to have nerfed the damage of the M16 so it is not much better than the one in vanilla BF2. What gives?
Request a kit and you keep your body armour status.
