why do the weapon sound different with every game and mod
i want to know why does the vehicles and guns sound so different on every game and every mod why can't they just have the real noise every time?
Give me a rule or something and I'll find a way around it or tell you how to make it work

I have to say, the sounds are very accurate in this mod according to what I've experienced. I think my first post on this forum, I mentioned the sounds. I swear I can hear the cocking spring in the stock of the M16 when I fire just like IRL. The SKS is spot on too. The snaps of the bullets going by...scary how realistic that is.

You hear snaps when bullets go by you? I hear the zing of tanks rounds and bullets hitting the ground near me. Just curious, people tend to have different sound experiences depending on their card.

Annoys me too. Although if the sounds in PR have been testified to sound like the real thing i'll be happy with it. Though I know it only goes for certain weapons. Sometimes you just wish they they just stuck a microphone using a really high bitrate next to a gun in a sound room, fired it and sorted it out for use. That's it, no fiddling around. Just the sound.
Though, what makes the sound is everything. The echo, the surroundings is what defines the sound more than the sound itself, i'd imagine.

the reason why they all sound different is simple.
let 5 soundengeneers record the same sound, you will end up in 10 different sounding results!
there are so much things that have significant influence of the result of a recording, like range to the source, sort of microphon, microphon positioning, recording technique, recording gear, ears of the engineer and many many more. not to forget to post prozessing after the recording...

thats probably the warrior. the engine sound of the warrior was a bit too loud and too far audible in comparison to the other APC´s. the upcoming patch will address this issue.unrealalex wrote:In PR it seems like I can hear an apc thats half the map away as if it's right next to me sometimes...doesnt really concern guns though xD
if its not only the warrior for you, then i suggest to do this update of the openAl files, wich is a good idea anyway..
