Same symbol for crewman kit and engineer kit is confusing
Hopefully this hasn't been posted anywhere yet, as I looked and didn't see it...
Is there a way to make the crewman and engineer kits have different symbols? I often command (CO and SL) and it is confusing to figure out if someone is actually an engineer or just a crewman. Maybe this is a limitation of BF2, but can you make the crewman kit show up as a steering wheel or something like that?
After reading the changes for PR 0.61, it sounds like the crewman won't even have a wrench anymore, so it seems like a good time to possibly change the symbol.
It would also help when you're trying to figure out what kit your squad needs when about to spawn in. Often I'll have to ask the "wrench" guys if they are engineers or crewman.
Cheers

Thanks dbzao <blush>. I spent nine years in the US Air Force as a flight commander, so I guess a few things rubbed off on me. lol
Also thanks for the reply. I know this issue probably isn't at the top of the developers' fix list, but on the flip side it might be easier than a lot of the others. In any case, I thought I'd share the suggestion.
Thank you (and the rest of the developers) for making such a great mod!

I second the motion because sometime you really don't have the time to ask people or they don't have time to answer so you are giving incorrect commands to people.
Not a huge priority, IMHO, but something that should be addressed.

I ran into something similar to this last night on Basrah. I was crewing an APC with a friend on TS and we took 1 RPG hit. Obviously we pull back a little and start asking for repairs. Tons of wrench icons light up around us and I think, "Oh, this will be easy." We chased down a pair, but they spammed "No Way!" and kept running away. Turns out all of them were regular riflemen (they had scopes on their weapons at least). I assume its because riflemen get a shovel that 'repairs' commander asset buildings, but we were confused for a few minutes as to why no one would bother to help us out. Just something to keep in mind next time, I guess.
Differentiating between crewmen and engineers sounds like a good idea, though, considering, as someone said, the crewman does not need the repair ability since they will be without a wrench.
