Meh--The M14 is outdated, and is used by the US military as a DMR. That's how I was thinking.

KP wrote:Is it realistic to have an outdated weapon that's not used (AFAIK) by the British military as their DMR? IRL, the Brits don't have a rifle for the DM role, and thus they use the closest thing in use IRL, namely the LSW.
No its not realistic was just an opinion lol, We do have a DMR IRL they use the L86 or LSW the reason it is the DMR is that A. 30rd mags dont do too well for support role B. It has longer barrel for long range targets.
L86A2, formally known as the Light Support Weapon (LSW) was rebranded as a DMR when the British Army replaced it in the section machine-gun role with the Minimi.

So from now on its not LSW its L86A2 ;-)

And how much sense would giving designated marksmen a weapon less accurate than the current service rifle make? Especially one infamous for its temperamental performance in deserts considering the current conflicts British Forces are involoved in.

Anyway, tis a nice model. And I do have somewhat of a soft spot for the Right Arm of the Free World. Considering its been almost 3 months since the last post, any updates for us KP? :p
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

i always wondered what the difference was between the fal and the g3, cause they look really alike to me. add in even the fnc, and i'm bewildered.

I recall the Israelis using the FAL to great success....

The IDF used the FN FAL in the 67 war, they were not happy with its performance and after that they started developing the Galil.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=cfwYCmZqmCI pretty long watch, I don't recall which minute talks about the FN FAL but they do.

We will never see this weapon. Im not trying to be rude but its seems to me that there are always some new weapons but they never get finished and in game. Damn shame.

Wow, how did I miss this one?

Man, KP, you're just rolling these things out.

Oh, and the Taiwan project is still going despite the fact that we somehow don't have access to our forums on RBR. I know I haven't been too active recently.

That is because no Devs ever seem to approach me about it. If they did, I'd be more than willing to finish this up. As the situation is ATM, I'm too busy with Taiwan and Russia.

And there hasn't really been any updates. I can post up a better render, though.

I, too, have a bit of a soft spot for the FAL. It is one of the coolest weapons ever made. And I'd very much like to see it in PR, if only so I can feel like I'm in Ballantyne's Scouts, fighting the Bush War (Wilbur Smith reference, for those of you who didn't get it). :-P

That is not going to happen. Take a list of all your weapons(not the ones for Russia/Taiwan)that are close to being finished or they at least look close to the final project and PM the DEVs. Pm like 3 of them and ask them what do they want you to do if anything with those weapons. There should be at least a place for the FAL with the insurgents/militia. I dont know about the other weapons you might have but they may be interested.
