Writing "apc driver, please drop us off at [insert place here]" after jumping into the apc works pretty well.
And then there is the "bail out" thing, which works pretty well too.
And originally this thread was about getting killed because you spawned into an apc with no room. Which is solved just fine by removing the apc spawn and communicating with the SL.
then again, there is a quicker way:
VOIP
heres a little complicated suggestion, supose u dont spawn in the gunner/driver seats, but instead spawn in the passenger seats, that means ppl will have to get out and get a kit to drive the thing (which there supposed to do anyway, and there wont be any gheys clogging the driver/gunners seat (even tho now its only for a certain time)
[R-COM]BloodBane611: I do like the old school rape...However, it's a bit awkward to be a white boy blasting the old school in public....
very few people use the APC properly right now.... in the future hopefully this improves.
about the sound issue: its a bit more demanding than 'just' putting in a sound saying stop the vehicle.
You will need to translate this one phrase, and make 3 different'versions' of this phrase for the following lanugages:
USA Accent English
British Accent English
Canadian Accent English
Russian
Chinese
Arabic
etc
I think the better solution would be:
- Remove the side guns on the APC's as they are unrealistic (most APC's modeled do not even have gunports on them IRL) as well they act unrealistically too, with a crappy sound and no way to see where they are shooting. Replace the side guns with a left click that rings a quiet bell, to signal the driver if a passenger needs to get out. The problem with this suggestion is passengers could still spam this bell, however it wont be as annoying because alot less 'blue guys' will be in your APC cause they cannot spawn on it. So maybe make the bell noise as least annoying as possible, just a queit one.
give him realistic armor , one at4/rpg-7/pf.89 can defeat most apc in-game (except the warrior , whicht in fact is a IFV) , hits from tanks should be a instand kill , not "burning time" like now .

So, if the gunports are removed, will the APCs have an actual interior and you'll be able to see everyone sitting down with you? Or will it be the same and just have the passengers just looking through the gunport and can't fire? I'm probably asking too much for APC interiors...
actual interior is one of those things that is work done / time spent. time spent on doing a vehicle interior could be spent doing other things. Not saying it wont ever be done, but its a relatively low priority for no impact on gameplay..
Does the bail out command even make any sense though? I don't know what the hierarchy is when it comes to military transportation, but is it not the people being transported who decide where to go and when to be dropped off to some extent.
I know it's a bad source but you get the cliché thing in films where some unit or other will want to go somewhere, met by a deep Southern state American accent telling them 'I sure as hell ain't sending any of my men near [Dangerous Place for Helicopter/other fast military insertion vehicle to be]' but they're the ones given the location to go and they can ultimately decided whether it's too dangerous or not.
If anyone can make any sense of that is that remotely true in real military situations? If so it would make sense to have a role reversal and change "Bail out" to "Let me get out you $£%^^%&ing stupid moron, who's in all likelihood going to get themselves/all of us killed or stuck down a ditch because they weren't paying the slightest bit of attention." or something along those lines maybe. I can appreciate that the extra voices would be a pain in the arse, so if there's a better way of doing it then awesome.
In an ideal world the situation would be avoided by people having separate armour squads for each piece, so the squad using an APC could tell the commander where they want to go and have the position relayed to the driver, but we don't, which is gay.
