Bought Sennheiser PC 161 last week, so I'd have to say that your new headphones are making the difference. Couple of days later, I splashed out for a soundcard as well.
Lets just say, I noticed a difference.

the tank shell problem is a mix of both, the server/client not registering the hit and therefore not playing the sound and in 0.61 you dont even hear the impact well enough if you stand still in your tank and you would have heared the impact in V 0.6.
thats because of the increased obstruction in armoured vehicles.
the first issue is a hardcoded BF2 one, the second issue is a selfmade one.
unfortunatly this cant be fixed until 0.7. sorry..

We're not doing another patch but I'm 99% certain that punkbuster won't kick you for having a hotfix for it. Then again, I was 99% certain the way it was in the patch would work for everyone....Engineer wrote:That doesnt exactly help...
