Im pretty sure noone has brought this up as of yet...
My suggetion is to take out the fading corpse effect as it is not realistic having a bunch of ghosts lying around on the map. Instead just have the bodies stay for the amount of time that they already do and keep them clearly visable for their lifetime.
This would be good because it wouldnt actually take up anymore video resources as the model is being rendered and shaded even with the effect and also at the same time create a more realistic visual during battles. This would also fix the "seeing through smoke" bug.
only bad point is that corpses may vanish before your very eyes at random points, but i think this would be a small price to pay.
EDIT: i do realise i have just double posted but i think keeping these suggestions seperate will make more sense.
EDIT2: Unrelated but is it just me or has something happened to the signitures on the forums?

thats not true... im not suggesting more bodies. Im suggesting same amount of bodies for same amount of time - with the same amount of triangles being drawn and shaded as before. This all means ABSOLUTELY no performance change whatsoever (at least not in a negative way). taking away the translucent effect will only make dead bodies stay realistic and not look like ghosts.SGT.JOKER wrote:I asked the guys at EoD about this one, they said it would definatly cause some lag, and for people who dont have top of the line rigs that would be a problem
and like Jonny sais:
And btw im one of those with a terrible rig...The masses of translucent bodies could cause more lag than solid bodies, they have to be made translucent.

Well, this was brought up in the testing phase if I remember correctly.
And since a DEV has weighed in and the issue is resolved, Lockage.
