Project Reality has too much similair stuff!
This is my first post, and I searched for a post like this but couldn't find one if there was, I apologize, that out of the way PR retains some of one nasty features vBF2 does: balanced everything. I acknowledge some of this has been changed but I still have some gripes: The tanks are very similar this is my most painful gripe, the T-90 lacks an auto loader that increases the speed of reload, the M1 lacks the amazing speed, armor and higher velocity gun. Also I understand if your never able to put this in but thermal vision for tanks would be much appreciated. obliviously the T-90 doesn't stand up to the M1A2 but you could balance it by spawning T-90's faster because I'm sure there quite a bit cheaper and logistically easer then the M1. Maybe just as painful as the former is that the rifles still don't do enough damage I dont care who you are but you don't keep fighting after a 7.62 x 51 smacks you in the chest. Above all I love PR quite a bit and will stay with it for quite a while yet, Thanks!

I think the mirror tanks was being worked on for .7+
As for weapons, each side's weapons are different enough to make them interesting without being mirrors. As said, the G3A3 is a 1-hit bleeder and will drop a guy from 2.
And shouldn't that be;

The things you said about the Abrams vs T90 controversy (lol), I think the devs know about it and it's a known issue
Probably not possible. Plus, when you fire the tank, you, as the tank gunner, don't see the dust coming out. However, from another perspective, there is a whole lot of dust coming out. There are 2 main map setups in PR.
Symmetrical (like vBF2, both sides get more or less the same stuff, most common are Convention Army vs Convention Army like the British vs China, but not always so.)
Asymmetrical (sides get very diffrent stuff and diffrent tactics are needed to be used by both sides, most common are Convention Army vs Guruilia Force like the Militia or Insurgants, but not always so)
When doing Symmetrical balance every side needs more or less the same stuff. In r/l the M1A2 / CR2 would kick the **** out of a T-90, and for your info a average manual reloader in a M1A2 or CR2 can easily beat the reload time of a auto reloader on something like a T-90 so your logic aint quite right there.
Each tank like the ARs in PR will all have there + and - points but the MBTs will have to stay around the same stats even if its unrealistic just for gameplay sake, otherwise if one side always wins cos they have a super powerful weapon, the game is not fun. Take EJOD Desert for exsample, the G3A1 at the moment is 100x better than the M16, and most ppl are getting quite sick of it when on the USMC team cos they cant counter it without something like the M14. 80% of the time MEC are winning this Symmetrically balanced map and players are starting to get very board of it and are leaving the server cos they are getting killed so much, even if the MEC are having a rally fun time getting such easy kills.

then i have and idea : change the gameplay !
make things assimetrical , make tanks realistic , but balance it in other ways , not mirror balance , make t90s faster or with "low" respawn timers (or lower than m1a2s) , etc ,etc .
war is not symetrical .
and about the rate of fire in tanks , t90s can shot 3 shells in 13 sec. (like 9-10 rpm) , m1a2s only had a fire rate of 8-9 shots per minute , so yeah , t90s are faster than m1a2s .

if you aint noticed 77SiCaRiO77 likes to post up his "amazing" balancing ideas all over the forums that wont work, I'm just fed up with explaining to him why they wont work. It wouldn't really be your mod thou, thou I dont see any reason why you cant make a minimod for PR as long as it requires PR to be installed in order for it to run, (aka, it loads most of the files off PR like we load files off BF2, aint hard to do if you know how to code).77SiCaRiO77 wrote:can i edit PR to make it some more realistic and launch it as a "expantion" ?![]()
