Trench around the VCP?
Could we please get the trench back around the VCP in Basrah, as it was in the open beta?
In the OB it was too narrow and people got stuck in it, but a wider one would be nice.
The reason is, that most of the time, when either British/Insurgents attack the VCP, they climb up on the side walls and shoot over the top and throw grenades in.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Molotov's flying over the walls, but the ones throwing them shouldn't be peeking over the wall itself, looking where to throw a nade.
Would also make defending the VCP easier, as you'd only had to watch the entrances for enemy troops.

the shovel should be able to spawn trenches.

Lol outlawz you really gonna hate me
I'm one of the guys who does that expertly! Sometimes i have a whole squad of insurgents throw molotovs over the wall and re-rm each other with our ammo bags.
Once when i was playing with my buds clanmates who were new to PR, All 6 of us hopped onto a passing pick up truck and headed to vcp, When we got there we just kept throwing molotovs over to the vcp while the truck was circling around it, My god we terrorized the brits.

I like the idea.
But it would be nicer if you had to dig it yourself. I know there are no dynamic changes of terrain possible in BF2 engine, but I was more thinking about something such as is Kashan's destructible runway, but in reverse. After digging for a while it would "remove" the upper level of sand so a trench would be created. Of course I don't know if this is possible but it would be nice to have it. If not, a simple trench will do enough

Yes, but that would mean, that there already is a trench below, and there's just a static over it, you have to "dig out"Deadfast wrote:I like the idea.

the reason why the trench in the early OB of .6 was removed from around the VCP in basrah was not just cos players where getting stuck, but also big terrain LOD problems where at distances you could see under the hesco barriers etc cos of it and looked really crappy. I dont see the trench being added back in aswell.
