Chopper optics
Please make my X button work in gunner seat.
Tanks are better at downing Air than anti air is..
And ya i know you can fish with TV missiles but thats a skill you shouldnt really need to use
In "reality" and i do use the term losely, we all know tanks go boom from miles out.

Explain a bit more clearly. The cannon on the helicopter has optics - press 'c'.
If this isn't what you mean..
Yes "fishing" as you called it is unrealistic, but making the view distance big enough so that an optical zoom on TV missiles could actually be used would probably make most peoples PCs start to drop FPS radically.
The helicopter doesn't need any more improvement, its the players. Don't fly with someone you haven't before and expect amazing results. Also, different tactics are needed on different maps.
If you're stupid enough to go within view distance of enemies, remember one thing, they can see you.. If you hover about too long you are mincemeat.

I agree nothing worse than knowing an expert heli combo are flying high in the sky, you just saw a team tank nuked from the heavens and the start to sweat search the skys then BOOM it's all over and you dont even know where it came from.
Unfortunately fishing is a throwback to BF2V.
It would be interesting to see missile lock added before they can be fired so they have to source the target get lock before the can fire and then they still have to guide it?
Just a theory

And if the goal is being realistic, Helo's shouldnt realy have to fear tanks at all..
In fact, someone show some real world data on the last chopper taken down with a 120mm round..
