I would recommend giving the airstrike bombs (like you can see on any afghanistan helmand video) a tank-shock firing effect that constitutes a shockwave that will stun/deafen anyone in the radius. Perhaps even a bullet-impact shock over a much larger radius that needs some attention to "heal". 200m is considered danger close for airstrikes, and the shockwave should perhaps reflect this considering the scale of some of the maps.

lol borat music would be great.
Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

The most appropriate and thankfully copyright simple tune would be the classic Tunuk Tunuk tun, slight asian flavour without any religious overtones.

Danger close is dependent on the ordinance being fired, not the platform it comes from. A GBU-43/B (AKA the MOAB) has a blast radius of 150 meters, and is therefore danger close at significantly more than 300 meters. A BGU-28 LGB has a significantly smaller blast radius and is much more accurate than a MOAB, and therefore has a smaller danger close distance.
Blast Radius + Error Distance + Fudge Factor = Danger close distance.

I've seen danger close for most dumb bomb and artillery strikes reported as 600 meters, but regardless the effect is that the shockwave does not effect everyone who is closer than this distance. It effects only people in a relatively close area, and if its a penetrating projectile used on a tank/hardened structure it is going to be significantly less pronounced.
