Modded Sinkable Mines

Post by 00SoldierofFortune00 »

Check out this video. Their mines sink into the ground and make them less dectable. Not sure if this would be a good thing or not in PR, but it looks like it is possible.

it would help, maybe make it exclusive to insurgents to simulate mines blending into the terrain.

The mines still are exposed at the tip, so a attentive diver dose have a chance to see them. this is the way mines should work.

Quote from ArmA forums says it all.

Flashpoint has a weeks worth of out the box gameplay, after that it's boring. "

thats a pretty awesome idea right there! I really liked in FH2 how the mine detector picked up mines with the "lock radius" hehe, really clever, think we may look into doing something like this and as 21CW is a BSS mod (and ow us for quite abit of stuff) think we can easily get this :)

EDIT: moving to suggestions thou, gee ppl can never post in the right place :p

EDIT: watching the video again with sound, 21cw only have skinable mines, not stickable like FH2 but the FH2 stickable ones look much nicer.

They have this in the SilentHeroes mod for BF1942, and it works great. You actully have to be cautious while driving in certain areas. The negative aspect with this is that the mines will sink into asfalt and other (in real life) solid material, but it's worth it if you ask me. And in BF1942, the mines would dissappear into statics if dropped on them.

This would certainly add a lot to the mod imo. I would love to see this in game.

I support this idea by 2000%! This would the gameplay so much better and the insugents would have so much better possibilities to win. Also, making apcs "slower" (by the needing a mine detector guy running in front of the apc/tank to detect possible mines)

The Insurgants dont get "mines", the "proximity IED" is only using the mine mesh as a place holder.

Most of you like this in theory but if this gets ingame most of you will ***** about it because of numerous team kills that will follow. Think about it ;)

Yea, thats my fault. I wasn't sure if this was going to be taken seriously or not if I put this in the suggestions thread.
