M40
Nothing huge, it just kind of bothers me how fat and bulky it is in this mod. I have fired an m40a3 and feels and looks very slim. Also the ghillie suit looks kind of crappy. Most sniper videos or pictures I see of people in Iraq, they aren't even wearing ghillie suits.

An SF soldier (from a John Woo film, hence the dual SMGs) carrying the rifle was killed prior to the battle, his gear has laid undisturbed until rediscovered by a passer by during the battle.agentscar wrote:Well, some lucky gies get it std. issue and not all SF.But to be more realistic I guess,U.S./U.K. Keep Sniper Rifles they have, but PLEASE TAKE THE M82 AWAY FROM BEING JUST A PICK-UP!That's so...weird to me...

And the M82 has been around since, well, '82, agent's car. Not exactly state of the art.
Oh, and they're micro uzis.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

We do not have an M40 of any type modeled in the game at the moment, just the stock BF2 M24 model. Stock ghillie-suit models, too. New models for those are not high on the list.Alecowns wrote:Nothing huge, it just kind of bothers me how fat and bulky it is in this mod. I have fired an m40a3 and feels and looks very slim. Agentscar, the US has not adopted the M95, though it was the original winner of the XM107 trials before the requirement was changed to a semi-automatic rifle. The M82 series of rifles has been around for 25 years; since 1982, as Bob said. They actually saw their first combat in Afghanistan with US-equipped mujaheddin groups.
And we have already stated that the M92 pick-up will be going bye-bye; it was placed as an easter egg but has just become an annoyance.
Dan UK, .50 caliber and other "anti-materiel rifles" or "hard target interdiction" rifles, are not special operations exclusive weapons, though they were at one time most often associated with them. Now they are in EOD units for stand-off disruption of unexploded ordnance as well as regular infantry battalions in the sniper sections of the scout/recce platoons (US Army/British Army and Royal Marines) or Scout-Sniper/Surveillance and Target Acquisition (STA) platoons (US Marines). They are issued to the sniper teams as the mission dictates.

Actually, the M40 is the Sniper Rifle for the USMC,so what do you mean, there is no M40 model in game...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M40_rifle
That above is it correct, that is in game?or is it just named wrong in game?
And the M95 has been adapted by the U.S. special Forces.I know some U.S. operatives in the Siberia area okay...but if you're asked, they're in Afgan!
Note:I'm taking the part about the U.S. operatives out tomorrow, due to that's classified...I think...

Don't use wikipedia as your only source. The M40-series is the US Marine Corps' sniper rifle, but once again it is not in-game. EA/DICE failed to do their research when making the game and placed the M24, the US Army's sniper weapon system, as the sniper's weapon in the USMC faction. Both the M40 and the M24 are based on the Remington Model 700, though.agentscar wrote:Actually, the M40 is the Sniper Rifle for the USMC,so what do you mean, there is no M40 model in game...
