The fog would be a disaster, snow yes fog no!

why go for a limited view distance when the devs are trying to make it the opposite

That is pretty cool. Looks like a Norwegian map!

which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

i love long range maps but on the other side of things i would love to see more maps that bring you close to each other, somethign quite entertaining about moving around and then finding yourself next to your enemy.

im not trying to deny the fackt that snow storms cause hinderd viewdistance, what im trying to say is that a map where if you wherent able to se more then 50m infront of you it would be a step backwords for pr!

as i see it the lower the viewdistance the closer to nilla we are.

Looks great, it would induce CQC and it would be pretty cool to change the bike into a snowmobile and you could maybe have ski's

That did not look like very effective fog/snow/whatever it was supposed to be. It appeared to be a buttload of smoke grenade effects, all over the map. It did reduce visibility, and could make for some cool vehicle on vehicle action, but view distance was still 100+ meters. Also, I feel like that much smoke could seriously wreck some of us who don't have sweet gfx cards.

I wouldn't mind trying it out, just to see how well it works out. I do like the idea of reduced visibility via snow, especially on a nice woodlands type map.

It's just the sandstorm effect (from that sandstorm map) but white, it never really affected anyone lag-wise... on the contrary the reduced see distance could make it less laggy for some people...

You thinking of Fallujah/Desert Storm?

Yeah, although only problem I had with that (along with the community) was that the dust was actually client side, so you would be dusted over and the enemy had a clear shot. Hopefully a snow effect would be server side and be constant with everyone
