Will the scoreboard still be as accessible in 0.7? As it is, you can hit tab and magically confirm whether or not you killed an enemy.
This spoils a lot of the gameplay and suspense, but it's so hard not to do because of its availability. I know I'm not the only one to do it, as there was a thread a while back about it.
How often do you do it though? Besides I like seeing my score and checking my k/d ratio. I've never liked the delayed view systems that seem to be put in a lot of reality games.
Let me guess - hard coded? At least it seems like that to me. But if not, it would be indeed good if it would be hidden somehow, only the scores and alive/death status of course.
every time i shoot at someone, weather i kill them or not, i still check.
i like keeping my K/D ratio at about 4:1, but any one who playes with me knows that rarely happens

or just not have a scoreboard. the points mean absolutely nothing to me and i do care somewhat about my stats in BF2. PR just dishes out points when i dont even know how i earned them.

Well, there are also other things it's useful for. Looking what squad a player is in, who is on the server, who is in the other team, votes etc etc.
Ya i never check unless Iam seeing what team a fellow guy on TS is on. i never look at myself unless someone told me to look at my score. And Eddie we all know you sometimes do but its rare. i almost never due to me always being up front "Leading by Example"
I agree, i really really really hope not to find the scoreboard once i load up 0.7 for the first time. Names and ping suffice. *fingers crossed*
It subtracts so much from the game. I also check it all the time during a round.
The 'end of round' scores should be plenty enough.

Why isnt the same system that is being used in insurgency being utilized now. You know where if you shoot a civie it doesnt count as a kill or death on both sides. If you really want to be realistic than that is the logical choice. Youll just have to count your kills if you really dig your score every round. I just hope its possible without taking away point rewarding for other tasks.
Agreed, get rid of it. It should only appear at the end of the round. With all the reality tweaks, this one spoils the major question everyone asks when playing "is he down?"
Agreed the average ( non admin ) player should not be able to see k/ds for anyone to prevent kill checking...
I know that the admins can see this somehow - regardless, dont quote me though
Hopefully by .8 hopefully - now that we can not spot infantry soon we will not get to "check" magically how many people we killed
Though score - name, and ping should be displayed only IMO - k/ds at end of game only please!

I've definitely checked on occasion to make sure I guy I think I got went down. Although often the flailing limbs is a good indication.
Definitely like the idea of kills being removed. That seems to be the biggest factor to me. The scoreboard is really important when you're checking to see whos in what squad etc, so it has some functionality that should be preserved.
If the kill point is added after the enemy body disappeared (30 seconds) then the exploit is removed and K/Ds can still be tracked. This is the best option, if it is possible.
