Some additional pilot controls in transport choppers?
Hey guys; we all know Vehicle VoIP would be AMAZING so you can scream at the idiot on the Blackhawk gun to GTFO - But we also know that's impossible due to hardcoding.
Now I'm just wondering; but first, let me explain my reasons for bringing this up... Today, I lasted pretty much ALL ROUND on Jabal Al whatever (the one with the W/E Beach and Dam, US vs. MEC) being a well-coordinated dropshiper pilot in the Blackhawk; ferrying my squad and other squads constantly to new locations.
Towards the end of the game, I ended up crashing into a mountain whilst on a 'stealth' mission with a squad, because I was busy typing (thus no chopper control) to the idiot on the gun to stop blasting it into the sky and giving away our position.
----
Would it be possible to add a key that the pilot of transport choppers can press to 'lock/unlock' firing modes on the cannons? (A bit like permission to open fire from higher command etc), because it's annoying enough when some c*ckend is firing aimlessly in your ear, and even moreso when you're trying to go undetected, but instead end up crashing because you were telling him to STFU!
----
My other idea is something I've had since the start of vBF2; would it be possible to make the Black Hawk doors open/closeable to protect the crew inside, and maybe add some increased manouverbility to the 'Hawk? I know for one I'd prefer to be behind a metalic door when being a BH passenger, than having the chance to fire back on the squad using small arms fire against the crew.

Should we have everyone request permission to fire or get rules of engagement from the player who is the commander, then? I can see having the miniguns not function or be inaccessible until the pilot is in the seat, though.

Citing RoE is taking it a bit far; I'm merely suggesting locking the cannons when in flight to prevent idiots bouncing on the seats going "YOOOHOOO! WE'RE HERE MR. AA!!!!"
As for making a new BH model with sliding doors; PR itself is of course a mod, with a lot of new vehicles added etc; if the Devs have the time on their hands, wouldn't this be a positive step?

Do that next time![R-MOD]Masaq wrote: Until then, I just put the Heli into a hover at high altitude over land and tell my passengers via teamchat that if they fire the guns senselessly again I'll bail out - and point out that I'm the only guy with a 'chute.

The miniguns on the BH are a distraction. If you're dumb enough to shoot them, you're gonna die. They are in no way actually useful, except for looking cool and maybe killing a long infantryman. Don't look like a noob, don't fire the miniguns!
As far as sliding doors it would simply lock people in. True BH sliding doors are barely protection against small caliber rounds. A BH is designed to avoid enemy AA, not really defend its occupants. Quick in, quick out, fast movement over unsecured terrain. Adding doors would be neat, but really would only protect against sidearms and some rifles (mainly 5.56 rifles, as opposed to 7.62), which you shouldn't be moving slow enough to allow your passengers to be sniped by. Occasionally you are going to lose passengers to volume fire, but your average infantryman isn't a threat to your occupants.

i would like to see a new '''black'' hawk model, instead of this ''sea'' hawk bf2v model though

The only way around this Heskey is to a 360 and head back to where you took off from.
Once you've landed, explain to your passengers that the next time someone shoots randomly off into the distance and gives away the BH's position,
That your next maneuver will be to dive the chopper (as hard as you can) directly into the surface below you at the time.
It a bit of a pain and time consuming but people usually learn fast that your not going to put up with ****.

Yep, i can say that the idiots on that round cost the US a valuble asset
Maybe if the Miniguns were unlocked by default, and the pilot has the option to lock/unlock them mid flight, if locked during landing and pilot gets out, the should revert to unlocked.
After 3-4 T&T Members were "politely" asking the said idiots to cease fire, the rest of the team decided to help to, but they carried on firing.
Even the R-XXX members playing told them !
