That would be absolutely awesome!!!

Look man, I'm really grateful to you for doing it at all. The award-winning choir singing it would be the cherry on top

Im glad to see some people embrace this....

I just started playing BF2 PR after getting an upgrade to my "antique" computer just to play this. My first time in a squad I noticed that they didnt have a medic, and after reading the online guide I figured thats a pretty important piece of the squad. What thanks do I get? The first time after I become a medic and fail to defib my squad leader (due to heavy fire mind you that would have surely killed me) I get a warning "I've already warned you, you're off the squad, what do you have to say for yourself?" (he warned me before for not keeping up, again Im a noob and learning!) This was the worst incident of the day but I encountered many people who felt the same way he did. I explain im just getting back into the BF series but thats hardly an excuse to them. I've signed up for training courses and try best I can to memorize the controls and use VOIP and the quick commands screen and follow every order. What the hell do you "experts" want from me? Its a little more than discouraging to keep getting back on these servers after such ****. All right, enough catharsis for now.

It's just the heat of battle I think, don't worry too much about it. When I get hit as a squadleader, of course I'm hoping to be revived asap - but obviously if we have a spawnpoint nearby it's not the end of the world if the medic doesn't defib me in time.

Obvious but important tip: notice a man down, pop a smoke, wait 4-5 seconds, THEN defib your teammate.

Anyway, there are still too many people who expect every player to be experienced and therefore quickly start bitching and kicking when they find the opposite is true.
Which is why I started the Adopt-A-Newbie program in the first place. Attitudes need to be changed, newbies must be integrated and taught by example, not by shouting at them.

If you're playing from the States, Tactical Gamer is a good server to visit for experienced AND understanding players. If you're from Europe, try iGi or our server Thors Brigade (A-Team always has a spot for you, just state you're an Adoptee!).

Again, don't worry too much about abusive people, try to calm them down and tell them you're doing your best and trying to learn from them.

Excactly. Its not easy seperating the lamers from the newbs without an "I'm new to this[...]"-statement.

I just try to ignore the ppl who keep flaming me, i try to keep up the pace of the squad. When i just started PR (about a week ago), i joined a squad whose name i dont remember (=> alot of clanpeople :p ). They helped get into the game, told me the basics and were pretty clear with there orders and intentions.
Offcourse theres times where SL/SM's keep yelling at you or so; in that case i switch to a squad more newbie friendly.
~~ my 20 cents =p

First tip off would be that there where no medics prior to you. ;) One reason could be that the kit is easy to select, but it's not always easy to play. Just about everybody has opinions on the "right" way of being a medic. And I do mean everybody. If I was to start and give a tip, this thread would be flooded with counter-tips, or comments that I'm way off.

I don't like the thought of people thinking that they actually have to set time aside and STUDY before actually getting to play a game. Suggest you do as many of us did; swap squads/servers until you find a unit that takes care of their squad members, rater than their stats.

Before you know it, you'll find a chap who is willing to take a minute away from his own game experience and help you out. There are a great number of gamers in here who upholds the long tradition of teaching a newcomer the ropes while in-game.

Just darn hard to find them sometimes.

LOL bjoffe. May I remind you of one certain incident? It involves an APC. Pretty recent as well. :-P

You may, Clavd. Indulge me. :)
Tenker du på gårsdagens lekestund? Jeg var ganske fin i formen. Nesten like fet som nu.

I acted eitherly? And with an APC?? Must have been my diabolical twin. Or my sneaky dobbeltganger!

PS. How come all the 'happy' smileys on this forum look so amazingly evil? Something with the eyebrowes. Scary f*kers...!

Yeah..it happens alot. I have been on the recieving end of that many times. Intensity and focus is all good....but being a dickhead..well thats universal isnt it. Just leave the squad and if there are no slots left in any other squad start your own and learn as you go.

Though the rules of the road have been lodged.....its only peoples games that you have to dodge...ITS ALRIGHT MA..its life and life only!!

Actually, it more sounds like a SL who thinks to highly of himself. Read all the manuals, been "in-training", seen fuzzheads movies and now tries to be "the best". And failing.

Kinda funny when you look at it that way.

I still think Adopt-A-Newbie is a good idea, and I encourage all experienced squadleaders to invite one or two newbies every round.

I hate people who don't read the instructions, simple as. There is a difference between someone asking 'what does the shovel do' and 'why is my soldier screaming' as one is explicitly explained in the guide (the shovel one if you are wondering). Anyway, this game has become so hard to play and not reading the guide before playing is idiotic and lazy.

If you're asking questions like "why won't it let me drive the tank?", "why can't I spawn at the hilltop?", "what's the shovel for?", I'm going to get mad at you. There is a different between not knowing exact details on something and just being lazy. I'll tolerate one question like that, and any more I'll tell you to read the manual.

Seriously, the first 4 (short) chapters of the thing which is installed on your desktop when you download the mod covers all this stuff. It's not very hard to spend a few minutes at least skimming over them.

I agree people are lazy and it sucks but if you know the answers and you take time to be an *** in global chat you might aswell give them a proper answer...

Be an ***? How asinine is it to ask someone to "please read the manual" instead of spamming the chat with questions?

Besides, it takes longer to explain how commander assests work than it does to do that.

RTFM, you dont think that is being an ***? Because that is one of the most common answers that people get.

However if you would say: "There is a manual on your desktop where this is explained, please read it for more information." it would be a completely different story.

Dont get me wrong, I want people to read the manual aswell but I dont see the point in being an *** and not giving people small hints about how to do stuff.
