Ya, but you would get a zoomed view of enemy troops which could be useful. Alos, seeing as you can't see if you killed someone, you could use it to check your kill.I think if someone or something stands/sits around long enough to look at it through binoculars you should be looking at it/them through your ironsights!!

I say only squad leaders get them. It's ideal so they can set far away waypoints without using the command map, and so they can point out enemy targets.
It'd be unrealistic if everyone got a pair.
And snipers don't really need them in this game, since they've already got the scope

/agreed but is there a way to code it so that when someone is a squad leader they get binoculars or is it just going to be like a certain class that you'll have to play (which would make it so that you wouldn't have to be squad leader to get them and thus ruin this suggestion)Cerberus wrote:I say only squad leaders get them. I agree Squad Leaders and sniper teams should only get the binoculars.
How to make it so only squad leaders get them?

BINOCULARS FOR ALL.................
I Strongly disagree, Guys. The balance that keeps the game flowing could easily be applied to all character classes; with bino's, separate classes would be able to use them in distinct ways specific to their Class & role. ie, S F's would utilize the ol' bino's in C4 use with the ability to detonate while zoomed. Sniper,Engineer & Medic classes could call in resupply to a different, visible location. Squad Leader's bino's should include a rangefinder as well as the suggested Command Hud System to utlize rapid commands in-game.

Engineers & Medics are obviously harder to setup as any repair bonus would normally be the Commanders bread & butter..... b cool tho...

give em to SLs, speec ops, and maybe snipers of BF1942 style arty is added *goes and prays*
also if friendly indicators were removed they would be extremely useful for SLs to give orders to open/hold fire. IRL you aren't going to blast away when you see movement in the distance. IRL big blue text tags don't appear on your allies

Maybe squad leaders could be automatically assigned an NCO class that has binoculars and a couple of smoke grenades... just a thought. And snipers could use them, too, as a rangefinder (assuming the binoculars can be given rangefinding capabilities)
