Who knows. I would like to think that in the BF2 world the leaders of these countries arent completely retarded and saw that a nuclear war has no winners so tried their hands in a conventional war.

Because then there wouldn't be a game. Or at least the game would be called "Fallout"

lol i think this is the real reason,DeePsix wrote:Because then there wouldn't be a game. Or at least the game would be called "Fallout"
but also because i think perhaps these countries didnt want to occupy and inherit a nuclear wasteland, which wouldnt really do them much good anyway. thats part of the reason the nuetron bomb was invented. because instead of flattening an entire city, it just kills every living thing, then the invading army can occupy it and not have to concentrate so much on rebuilding.

At the end of the day, it's the politicians who order nukes to be used and the military with their hands on the keys.
Ask any soldier and they will tell you they never want to see them used. Especially not in a MAD situation. When it comes to the crunch, I wonder if those personnel with their hands on the keys will actually turn them or if they'll march into parliaments everywhere and take over for common sense
