Wow nice to see that this has become a bit of a hot topic.
While I appreciate the point that Street on 64 plsyers was a very different animal from the normal PR maps and tactical scenarios. It also made a very good change of pace and emphasis in between a string of the usual favourites when playing a night on a server.
I can also appreciate that this map was not "up everyone's street" (pardon the pun!) but was always very popular on our server, and others, so irrespective of your personal like/dislike of the map it clearly has a large enough following to warrant at least request for a replacement.
I suppose if you didn't like it then you don't miss it, however if you, like us, used to enjoy a frantic round on it once in a while then it is missed.
I don't see how you can be negative about replacing it with a similarly designed map if you are a street naysayer, as if you don't enjoy this kind of map don't play it. However, at least don't shout down the possibility of a similar map being reintroduced for those that would at least like the option to join a server running it...

Karkand was the main reason i quit BF2v but I enjoyed playing it tactically.M4nicMin3r wrote:Street16 was awful..., about as vanilla as you could get in PR, nuthin but retarded nade spam and support gunning gimps.., might as well go play karkand.
Thinking about it, what if Karkand was finished...
It would be sweet to see that map used corectly with boats & APC's accross the river [redlines removed and small base at SE corner completed with Helipad(s)].
With buildings being destroyed by tanks and more internal parts of structures it would remove the spammy noobness playability and we would have a city map for 16/32!
Better still, a possible Insurgency for USMC?

There has been much discussion about a PR karkand, I believe the IDF mod is in fact using it as one of their maps. I believe it is enlarged and being used as a 64 player map, but you'll have to go check out their community mod.
Anyhow, I do realize that sometimes it's fun to just have straight action, but PR isn't about being a meatgrinder. War is a thinking man's game, and PR reflects this.

I think a good, large urban map should really be included.. at the moment, the only urban maps are comprised mainly of giant open spaces surrounding the city (ie Basrah, EJOD). We need a good, thick urban environment with many avenues, parks, esplanades and house-to-house sections, something that is less restricting than Street but generally maintains the same gritty, brutal close-quarters fighting.

RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!
Do not post stupid suggestions just because you had a bad round in PR
