Something like this is a good idea too! The problem is, right mouse button is already used for switching between detonator and C4.gclark03 wrote:Can we give the clacker a right mouse button function that detonates the C4, but cancels the destructive explosion itself?
Disarming c4 when engineer/specops/[insertkithere?]

You are correct...it needs both a heat source and pressure....hence the blasting cap.Slavak wrote:Your right. Can shoot, stab, beat, or burn (within reason) C4 and It wont explode.
There is a story from the Vietnam era that it was common to heat C-rations by tearing off a thumbnail sized corner of C4 and lighting it. Due to the composition it burned really hot to say the least.
A new soldier one night on patrol was doing the "C4 burn" to heat up his chow and was quickly jumped for breaking a "no lights".
The rumor has it that he lost his foot when he attempted to stomp the fire out!
Not sure about the validity of the story....but just about everyone who has carried C4 or known someone who has, knows the story.

No, it needs either a lot of heat, or a lot of pressure. Combining the two significantly reduces the amount it needs of either to usable levels.RCMoonPie wrote:You are correct...it needs both a heat source and pressure....hence the blasting cap.
Stick C4 into a compressed air tank and you'll have yourself a party.
I agree that the C4 should be removable, even if only by the engineer who placed it. Same with IEDs, really (although I've literally never run into a situation where I can't just blow up the IED and not care).

lol nicko
I do agree that the engineer should be able to pick up C4 in the way that he picks up mines, but non-engineers should not. I view engineers as a pretty catch-all class, meaning they represent people with training in explosives, vehicle repair, construction of things, etc. Regular soldiers would not have much training with explosives, although I believe that NCOs are supposed to receive some training on booby traps, both arming and disarming. Alas, I forget where I read that, some army site or another, but I can't confirm it right now.

How often have you come across an undetonated c4 pack? The only time I think I've seen it is on bridges where the enemy presumably was killed because he rushed without smoke etc. Seems like a pointless idea, IEDs might be more useful, but the insurgents are more likely just to blow up or shoot the engineer, so not that useful there either.
Agreed...but do you mean shockpaddles IRL or ingame, because they do work on the first try ingame..blend wrote:Y not put in a little random risk? The shock paddles dont always work on the first try too.
But picking up YOUR OWN mines/c4 should really be implemented
If you need to not detonate your c4, you can always just get more ammo, throw two chunks somewhere safe and detonate, it will remove 1st c4.gclark03 wrote:Can we give the clacker a right mouse button function that detonates the C4, but cancels the destructive explosion itself?
