Double zoom for sniper rifles, how much realistic is that? Can someone explain it to me why there's double zoom? Are there really such Hi-Tech scopes or is it just leftover from older PR versions and it stays till today to improve gameplay(?).
Are you going to remove it in the future releases or it will stay forever?
Any opinions?
Thanks.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!! Do not post stupid suggestions just because you had a bad round in PR
I think its realistic because sniper's can adjust the range of the scope in realife, but I also think it only has 2 zoom levels already set because the BF2 engine, I dunno though I could be wrong

One of the main reasons there is a double zoom is to make it more powerful than the marksman rifle. If it only had 1 zoom then it wouldn't be any better.
I have no source right now to back this up, but I am quite sure that there actually are scopes with adjustable zoom.
It's a bit unfortunate that we have only two levels who differ so much, but the general idea of different magnifications should be right.
IRL the magnification is 'stepless' if you know what I mean, don't know the right word for it. AFAIK that's not possible with the bf2 engine so that is why we have 2 different levels of zoom. And it's not definitely just for hi-tech scopes, even the hunting rifle I use has a scope with adjustable magnification (1x-3.5x)

That was probably done using C++, not Python, meaning that we couldn't add that code anyway. I can't see why DICE would willingly use Python instead of just modifying the source code.
