People sometimes don't just understand sitting in one place and waiting, it can be boring, they prefer action, thats why they rush
So true, Though I've found people can be easily converted.
Quite often if we're defending a flag and all goes tits up around us you'll soon have the whole enemy coming down on you, now that's action
People go around chasing the sound of gunfire far too much whereas the most fun is had waiting for the gunfire to come for you.
Seriously some of the BEST rounds I've had have been sat defending a single flag.
A good squad will get on all directions and call out the area they're watching "Cain on North east watching main entrance!" That way the SL can picture in his minds eye exactly how protected his flag is and direct you where you're needed (and where you'll get shot at...)
Now what? Wait!

the best bit and also why VOIP is very useful. Talk to each other, tis what real soldiers do, get to know your squadmates, it'll pay off when the bullets start flying.
You can get quite involved whilest nattering away on the D marker then all of a sudden **BOOM!!!** "Shit RPG north side! two wounded we need a medic!!!... Support gun pin him down fast, OPEN FIRE NOW!! FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!!!"
"squadleader they're pushing around south my side!!"
"Copy that Bolster up on the south side hostile movement, go go gooo!!!!!!"
When you've been sat waiting for 10 minutes and then an enemy attack announces its arrival it can get seriously intense
