Something definitely needs to be done to even up the scoped/iron-ed rifles. I don't care if the scoped recoil goes up, or if iron recoil goes down, or even if both move to some happy medium. But they need to be equalized.
Just as a clarification, does the scoped version have .4 or .6 the recoil of the unscoped?

Well, In real life if you are shooting with a scope the recoil should be a little more than it actually is and that you should have to move the reticle down a little more than what is is now to get the same shot as before. Right now I think iron sights are more, so no i think the should not be the same scope should be more.

I am sure 75% of you do not play with iron sights. The medic, engineer, and rifleman ammo kit has to have some advantage over the other kits or else people will just not play them. Rifleman ammo kit is basically a useless kit and has turned in the old Rifleman AP kit from 0.5 because it doesn't have any advantages over the regular rifleman kit which has a scope. The ammo bag is suppose to entice people, but it usually doesn't.
Same with the medic class. How do you expect the medics that actually medic to keep playing if they can just easily get picked off at long range? Not calling for a big change, but just a little something to even it out with.

The guy just said that scoped rifles should have more recoil than iron-sighted ones.

I play at least 50% of my time as either an engineer or medic, and I have found that the other tools I am given far outweigh the lack of an optic. How do you expect the medics that actually medic to keep playing if they can just easily get picked off at long range? That maybe true on some maps, but on maps like Kashan where optics are necessary to survive, you have to rely on your teammates a little too much.BloodBane611 wrote:I play at least 50% of my time as either an engineer or medic, and I have found that the other tools I am given far outweigh the lack of an optic.
And all the medic really has is the shock paddles and extra bandages which the SL even has, so the medic kit is becoming less and less enticing.

The question was not if one should appear to have more recoil. The question is is they should have the same recoil. The scope appears to have more recoil, but that's just because it is exaggerated by the zoom. The should have EQUAL recoil,Jonny wrote:voted yes,
the scope should appear to have more recoil than the iron sights, due to zoom.

I agree.[R-CON]CAS_117 wrote:So much controversy over the simplest question ever. On the plus side I've learned one thing, people don't know what recoil is.
People, listen up.
This poll is not about the visual effect of the recoil seen through the scopes.
It's about the numeric value defined in weapon configs.
Of course that recoil (and therefore the effect of muzzle climb) will look bigger while seen through the scope. The simple logic says that if the scope magnifies 4 times the recoil will look 4 time bigger than with 1x magnification, while the actual kick you'll feel on your shoulder stays the same.
