Own Body and First Person Sight
This is something I really long thought about if i should suggest. I think the Ego_perspective have to get a bit corrected.
Body:
When i look down on the ground i should see my feet my chest/bodyarmour.
When i hold the rifle in hips you should see more of the arms not only the hands.
Head:
When i am looking while i have my rifle in the hips i should see a bit of the
helmet or the bonnet and some guys wearing a kind of skigoggles(sry dont know the right word for it)this should look like in BF2 SF when you wear the gas mask. and you should have the abilty to take it off.
On insurgent side the taliban with headscarf should see a bit of it.
It should not be a handicap for the sights but its a real more realistic and the skigoggles should absord the suppression effect a bit.
i dont know if the body part is possible but i think the part with the goggles and the helmet are possible cause of the SF mask etc.
on my attachment you see how i mean it with helmet, skigoggles and the headscarf sry for bad painting.
Much greetings

Doesn't really add anything to game play, except annoyance. For you to reall "see" the headscarf, it would have to be partially on your eyes, and you wouldn't stand for that.

We already have a tiny field of view - the screen is limit enough. We cant even look around without moving our entire body.
And seing one's legs is cool and stuff, but it would indeed not add much to the gameplay. Of course i'd like to see that - perhaps even expect that - in a new game, but not in a mod.

I guess its a personal thing- I look on it more dispassionately, the only dif between british and insurgents ingame is the assets and tactics available to each side.foxxravin wrote:i agree, its more fun if your more in the "role" you will have more feeling
ON topic - I expect changing the view in this way would screw over teh widescreen players

sure it might be fun but I think it wouldnt be worth the effort.
much rather Id like to see the firstpersonview to match what other players actually see, thats what I first thought this thread was about.
this would mean no more firing over walls where other players only see the tip of your helmet and no more bodies sticking out over buildings.
hijack over.

I have a perfect solution for you the OP and people who like his idea. You guys should go out and buy ski goggles, and headscarves. Then, when it's time to play PR, put on the ski goggles and play. Surely that will be more realistic and a more realistic view of what the ski goggles or headscarves are obstructing. Also, it will make you feel more in the role of the game.
Plz post pics of yourself when doing this.

this is the deal your field of view in BF2 compared to reallife is extremely limited so this alone would compensate for the "ski goggles" and scarfs and all that other **** that was suggested and as for the seeing your own body its allmost definitely impossible to make and if it is possible it would take so much work that its not in any way shape or form worth doing.
although i would like the swinging weapon effect from forgotten hope its like someone we all know would say "izzzz naaajzzzzz"(borat)

Suppresson effect is to encourage people to keep their heads down, its the DEVS way of forcing people to be scared of getting shot at, because lets face it without it most people are pretty fearless. Its not really meant to simulate anything pysicaly happening to someone but to simulate mentaly that they would be cowering under cover. So having goggles to make you "braver" dosnt make any sense.
As for reducing peoples views with goggles and helmets...... NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO........NO I dunno how big your screen is but mine isnt huge, and I cant afford to sacrifice what little space I have for something that "looks pretty". Having a body in game also effects frame rates allot, And while its sometimes cool, its not really worth trying to get right in bf2, games like fear, or hitman or ARMA are designed with their bodys in mind, BF2 wasn't and I can imagine just sticking a default skeleton, animations and model behind the players camera would hold countless problems, including parts of the model going in front of the camera at an inappropriate time.
Id much rather be a floating gun that's bug free, Its not often I look at my feet anyway in game, im much to worried about getting shot. And its just not worth the time trying to get this to work when the DEVs can continue with things that are worth their time.

I'd be more happy if it was possible to change the camera position from the navel to the head while proning. As it is now it's ridicoulus that more than half of the body is sticking out while proning in high places if you want to look just slightly downwards. But my guess is that it's hard coded.
