The UH-1N and the UH-1Y is in use. The "Y" is still being rolled out while the "N" is still the featured Huey model. The "Y" wil have full dominance for the Marine Corps by 2011 leaving the Reserves the only Marine units with "N" model Huey's until the end of 2012.
The Zulu is a four bladed helo with longer stub wings than the model in BF2 shows. The Zulu is to be able to shoot 16 Hellfires, 2 AIM-9's(Air to Air)and 10,000 rounds from the 20MM gun. So why have a half arsed to helo when you can have a good model with more bang for the buck. The Zulu could be a great asset if design correctly.

its asking too much, door gunner is not a comparable role to one such as a helicopter pilot (in game)GunnyJD wrote:Here's something to keep noobs from shooting the gun, make them have a pilot kit to man the guns on the huey and as the gunner on the cobra. Only fair and realistic, the crew chiefs(door gunners) are enlisted and wear the same gear as pilots.
But I'd like to see the Y in, looks great.

Rocket pods can be mounted on both the UH-1N and UH-1Y. A chin-mounted BRITESTAR FLIR/laser designator is standard on the upcoming UH-1Y and is often mounted on current UH-1Ns. As GunnyJD said, the Huey-Y is being rolled out. Last I heard they were working on getting the UH-1Y out ahead of the AH-1Z because the UH-1N fleet is so aged.Hotrod525 wrote:Dont the marines uses the UH1Y Huey wich have 4 palm FLIR and 1 rockets pod ?

that would only work if there is direct VOIP between people in the same vehicleMAINERROR wrote:Have a question to the DEVs. Is there any way to implement a function which allows the pilot to disable the door guns? Cause thats realistic. I mean on the Black Hawks the pilot has to arm them before the door gunners are able to shoot.
as a gunner there will be nothing more frustrating than seeing an enemy aiming at you with a stinger but no way to tell the pilot to arm the guns to engage him.
although this will only apply to side mounted miniguns which i doubt will be used
