Anyway, how come they get their own .exe? Could they pay for the licence with their millions of dollars of sellout capitalist blood advertising money or something?

True that.[R-PUB]bosco wrote:PR has it's own .exe too...?
Edit: sorry for the short reply earlier. As stated, it's a separate .exe that runs when you play the mod with different functions the game can't produce.

Re: FH2.exe
Because FH2.exe and PR.exe aren't edited versions of BF2.exe.
What our .exes do is basically load up BF2.exe with a set of additional instructions - "Run as usual, but instead of normal shaders use our own". It allows both mods to use additional shaders that BF2 doesn't include as standard - basically, the supression effects.
Edit:
Oh and congratulations to the two guys above - you win this thread's "Most Idiotic Poster Award" in a joint first-place. Enjoy your warning points, prats.

Re: FH2.exe
Its not just for suppresion effects, in FH2 at least, it adds shaders for other things, making the mods over all graphicaly better I was led to believe.[R-MOD]Masaq wrote:Because FH2.exe and PR.exe aren't edited versions of BF2.exe.

Not you, two other guys posted "FAIL"-type captioned pictures, since deleted.

Re: FH2.exe
Yeah forgot about us having that, whoops. Are the FH2 team working with the same limitations we are then? (aside from their team getting paid for it unlike ours)
Oh and not that I advocate respecting people solely on their post count or how long they've been here, but I'm not entirely clueless having been here over a year and been reasonably active. I'm sure there was a much more respectful tone in this place till pretty recently.

Re: FH2.exe
FH does it like every other mod for free. Ctz is just the best coder in BF. He mod the BF2.exe and PR asked if they could use it too so the exe find the way to PR.
Thats why the PR Devs thank jodonnell and ctz and for this help in the news of 0.75

New Shader Effects
Thanks to one of our newest [R-CON]'s, jodonnell and his partner in crime ctz (both on the award winning FH2 team), the effects of laying down suppression fire will be devastating on your enemy.

I think I saw while ago, before it was released, that they were gonna have advertisements in game to raise so funds (quite alot if I remember right). Might have been a joke though, but the images they gave were of computer companies and stuff, so it didn't seem THAT far fetched.77SiCaRiO77 wrote:nobody pays them anything .
