thats called subtractive mapping, like HL maps but subtractive modeling is not possible in 3DsMAX afaik, if it is some one please tell me how hehe.

But most models are made by starting off with a block or some other object then extruding it into all the bits you need. With statics thou its normal lots of blocks added together with using a little bit of extruding etc.

No this is just me teaching myself how to model something.

Undies mate, as mentioned above, I'd highly recommend getting your hands on Stormys Glock video tutorials. It teaches you almost everything you'll need to know about low poly modelling...
