Just rename the kit to "Protester", don't change anything else.

The civis are the fun part of the game in my opinion. Nothing beats stoning those Brits to death and then get half a squad chasing you :p

:d uh:

I don't like them at all ! I prefer the insurgents on Op archer. IRL , if you see a guy standing next to an RPG attack , you don't take chances , i might be carrying an IED belt or something, he would be shot down.

LOL, I think you're right. I know it pisses off the Brits when I'm standing on an inaccessible rooftop with binocs reporting their every movement. Some of them eventually just shoot me anyway and take the penalty, lol.

A few days ago I stoned an OFFICER to death. I got like 40something points if I remember correct. On the scoreboard it showed me a "civilian" with 0 deaths and the "1" kill. I had to LMAO for a long time after that. Funny as hell

This just sparked an idea: What about make it so any civilian while using the binocs can be shot without penalty? And make it so a 4 second delay or grace period where they are still legally killable after they take the binocs from their eyes.

What harm did those poor binoculairs ever did to you? Have you been stalked by a neighbour in your childhood that you want to shoot everyone with a binoculair?

Thats just cruel.

Ps, isnt it so when a civilian climbs a stair or rope, standing on a roof you are able to shoot him withoud a penalty?

ladders yes, since it counts as a vehicle IIRC. but standing, no.

It's a myth that civilians can die without penalty to the BAF on ropes/ladders/stairs or in water. They aren't counted as vehicles. I learned the rope and ladder truth the hard way, after firing on them and killing them.

When civis are seeing black and white, they can't sprint. When any unit in game is seeing black and white, they can't sprint. So two shots to the civi, make 'em bleed, they have to walk away or patch up. Either way, he'll be detained if you're any good.

Also, for some odd reason, people with dressings look directly down when dropping it. Why, I've no idea. I just drop one in front of me, walk over and I'm good to go. When people are looking down, they don't see the knife coming. ;)

It's great fun kniving civis, and being a civi running from sharp blades. I still think the engy's shotgun should take out civis, not sure how that'd play out in real life tho. :p Flashbangs might be good, only for the Basrah Officer and Spec-Ops. This means a new kit must be made. Pretty easy to do.

Someone has to make a civilian "frag" video with the main theme Can't Touch This. Stayin' Alive for the end credits would complement. :p

To the teargas arguement, the Insurgency Mode is not a traditional engagement, it's one where the Brits (speaking from the Basrah Perspective) know that the populace may be hostile and probably would take steps to deal with unfriendly civillians in a non lethal way. Why not allow the Officer or Medic or some such kit have the teargas launcher as it would reflect on the forsight of the Brit commanders, unless of course everyone thinks they're stupid...

Problem is that they bleed out too fast and die, whereas if their bleed out time could be increase you could call it a 'warning shot'

LOL, I hope you are being funny. The reason I suggested that idea is because civilians can spot enemies with the binoculars and report them to their teamates and it will show the enemy location so all your budz know what and where the enemy are. Sometimes I play a whole round as civilian and this is what I do, just spot enemies thus contributing greatly to the Brits demise. I love doing it but I do feel like I shouldn't be getting immunity for my actions. I mean Brits are getting killed indirectly because of being spotted so I think such activity should be punishable if you get caught. Like IRL warzone if you see some guy with binocs spying on your troops you can assume he's the lookout for the insurgents etc.

LOL, I think you'd have to be crazy to be a birdwatcher in Iraq or Afganistan at this point in time. Save that for more tranquil regions, hehe.

a couple times some civillians got in the red suicide cars and blew some squads up, so this brought up the question, whatever happened to free fire zones?

I have no idea if the original idea is even possible btw lads :D

I was thinking if you could change the way kits react to the bleed effect, you could leave the bleed out time alone and give Civilians a unique 'other' bleed out effect that they get when suppressed, that seems realistic in my head "Stop or I shoot", civi runs ofc, warning shot, Civi is forced to slow down/stop by the bleed effect.

But i'd need som1 knowledgeable on such things (be it technical/military) to see if its even possible.

shameless bump, questions are

can you (i.e. is it possible) increase the % at which bleed out occurs for collaborators (less preferable)

can you decrease the speed at which collarborators bleedout

the idea being to force collaborators to be forced to stop running by the angry men with gunz without murdering him.
'[R-DEV wrote:Jaymz;879849']Disclaimer: The sprint time you see in this video is not a representation of the 0.85 sprint/stamina settings.

The intended changes are,

SOLDIERS: Final standardisation of sprint times. 30 seconds of sprint time (15 for collaborators). Refill time is 80 seconds. (jaymz)
I have not tried the new build, not being a tester in any capacity. But if possible, it might be preferable to slowing the collaborator down with sprint?

feel free to lock if thread is deemed out of date.

You need a better way to simulate fear in the civvies. The way they behave in game would get them shot by regular police, let alone soldiers (Hurling rocks and then resisting arrest by running down an alley next to a guy with an assault rifle).

Well its probably already said but I havent got that much time:

Dont you think Civi's run away in real life when theres someone with a gun looking at them? Its the same dillema as you get in real life. Shoot the civi and risk court martial or try to arrest him?

The intended changes for 8.5

SOLDIERS: Final standardisation of sprint times. 30 seconds of sprint time (15 for collaborators). Refill time is 80 seconds. (jaymz)

problem solved, with double sprint
