Re: more firing modes
The M16A4 has a 3-round burst and single shot mode.
Same with the M4, however the M4A1 can go full automatic.

Re: more firing modes
CoD-4 hasn't even firemodes, and no, apart from the early M16 and the very rare M16A3 the M16 is a burst only weapon and the M4A1 will be kept for SF only, the armys M4 also has only burst mode

Re: more firing modes
yes, but with a new moddel as seen in the news and perhaps we will get even a 5. version of the M4 with eotech.
so that we would have:
M4 ironsighs
M4 AGOC
M4 M68
M4 AGOC/M203
M4 Eotech
so that we would have:

M4 M68

Not sure in-game yet, but in real life just about all grunts receive a M68, and I believe either 1 in 4 or 2 in 4 get an ACOG.

M16a1 and M16a3 are full-auto. I'm not sure about the M4 but I think that only the M4A1 is full-autoTeek wrote:The M16 is burst and M4 is auto. It is like that IRL and in COD4

Re: more firing modes
Well could that solve the ever debatable argument between Iron sight rifleman and ACOG, Ironsight goes to M68 and Optics goes to ACOG.... maybe a good idea..

Re: more firing modes
Hopefully this is what happens because the m68 will be a big advantage over the ACOG when it comes to close quarters.TheScot666 wrote:Well could that solve the ever debatable argument between Iron sight rifleman and ACOG, Ironsight goes to M68 and Optics goes to ACOG.... maybe a good idea..

Me wants safety! *cough* Oh, its about COD4 and firemodes...
Well, the way its done in PR is correct, correcter than in COD4 at very least.

Re: more firing modes
Never Use these exact words ok:
"Because in Cod4"
Ok?
Cod4 is not realistic.
Just a fun arcade game.
What happened to the 3 round burst on the QBZ-series?
Or does it even have it in RL?

I thought we covered semantics differences already in this thread.-CJ- wrote:M16a1 and M16a3 are full-auto. I'm not sure about the M4 but I think that only the M4A1 is full-auto![]()
M16 used by Airforce in 60's. Triangular handguard and full stock. full auto.
M16A1 army version of M16 with forward assist, otherwise same.
M16A2 80's version with round handguards. Burst.
M16A3 Full auto Navy and airforce version with limited use.
M16A4 updated A2 with Knights armament company products such as a RIS rail system, rail covers, hand grip and backup iron-sights, also flat top receiver. Often issued with ACOG and AN/PEQ-2.
M4 Carbine version of M16A2 Introduced in 90's with flattop rail, burst, collapsing stock and often issued with M68 Aimpoint CompM2 red dot sight. Army Issue with similar KAC items.
M4A1 Special forces version of the m4 with full auto. SOPMOD kit is just a fancy way of saying 'you can put what ever picatinny rail accessories your want on"

Re: more firing modes
Closed as the OP's question has been resolved.
WRT the QBZ-95, IIRC PRC_HeavyZ confirmed that they were had a safe-semi-auto selector group.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
