*cough*1,500m*cough*
Hm... could be used at long-range, but I guess it'd only be used as anti-APC/Humvee/infantry/bunker.
Modern Firearms - Mk.19 automatic grenade launcher / grenade machine gun
me, I'd just sit back at a bunker or firebase, get a sniper buddy and crank shells out at 1,500 meters... Pin-point fire at that range? heh. at least we could get RPG Artillery as well for the Insurgents... good out to at least 500m. Militia have their cannon...

Re: Limited Mk. 19 HMMWV?
Weapons like these are designed to be as unfair as possible - one part of choosing a new PR feature must be balancing such weapons without neutering them. A long reload and low ammo count are both unrealistic and crippling balance changes.
On the other hand, these checks, assuming proper balance work by the mapper, should reduce the 1337 factor while still keeping the Mk. 19 very powerful and deadly.

- Requires a Crewman kit. (This should be a requirement on the TOW HMMWV anyway.)
- Can only be resupplied by full Supply Boxes, not mini ammo dumps from FAVs and APCs.
- Limited range. (Does allow potential for use as a makeshift fully-auto mortar - realistic?)
- Only effective against APCs if the crew remain mobile and communicate with the team. Going against a BTR-90 in one of these things is SUICIDE, and that should be reflected in PR.
- Poor use of the Mk. 19 HMMWV, much like misuse of a tank or APC, must mean death. Only this will keep the noobs away.

these two are ok, but no vehicles ingame are resupploed by boxes afaik, only bunkers/firebases/CPsgclark03 wrote:

No reason to require a crewman kit. They are driven by grunts just like every other humvee.
If brute force doesn't work.......your not using enough of it.

Mk19s are manned by Joe Average infantry all the time.(of course they are trained on it.:roll

That's right, don't dismiss the whole thing because of those bullets, as they're all just ideas from the top of my head. If I create a Mk. 19 model and some access to the game's Python files, I could add this thing on my own, but would it be difficult as a first model?

He is correct about the ammunition can capacity, gclark. They only come in cans of 32 or 48 rounds, depending on the ammunition type. I have not seen the 48 round boxes mounted on the HMMWV cradle mount. Even the first-generation Stryker RWS only had a 32 round capacity for its ammunition box.gclark03 wrote:I don't want a crippled Mk. 19 HMMWV, I want a real Mk. 19 HMMWV. The only things the DEVs can rightfully screw around with in the name of realism is the number of them on the map.
Since I haven't said this in a while, balance does not mean having a nearly identical weapon on every team.Hotrod525 wrote:i would like to seen Mk19 on jeep, there equivalent exist in China and in Russia, so MEC is fix...
I think there has been much ado about nothing with regards to the Mk-19 and automatic grenade launchers, as the platforms they are mounted on are, at best, lightly armored (APCs, utility vehicles and small craft) and carry very little ready ammunition relative to the equally lethal-to-infantry cannons of the IFVs. Not to mention that more often than not, the gunners on these weapon systems are at least partially exposed.
Since this is technically a resuggestion, though, I am going to lock this thread.
