No. There is a swim kit available for the LAV-III/Piranha III series, but the US did not acquire it for the Stryker.TheScot666 wrote:Is it amphibious???

HAT is also anti structure, it makes sense to have it on maps without tanks so you can take out bunkers and firebases at range.

Re: Please don't cripple the Stryker
Well, going back to my original suggestion, I'm happy to hear the mechanized infantry squad will be alive and well in .8 because that's precisely why I made this thread. My concern is that six man mechanized squads including a Stryker won't be feasible/useful because of the amount of manpower the squad will have to dedicate to the vehicle in return for a relatively small increase in firepower. And I'm not trying to deny the mobility or usefulness of the Stryker in real life, just questioning if players will find it useful in-game. In any case, it sounds as if there are some other significant changes being made to the ways APCs and infantry interact so I'm going to withhold further judgment until I get some (virtual) hands-on experience with the Stryker.
On the topic of HAT, I'm glad to hear it will be getting a much needed nerf. While I have no idea what it's capabilities will be in .8; I'm betting it will be much more of a specialist weapon than it currently is. As with the Stryker, I'll wait until .8 before I decide whether I think it needs changing. But if it does, I think removing it from maps which don't feature armor would probably be a good idea.
*Edit*
Tirak, unless things have changed, the LAT will be able to "wreck" bunkers/fire bases with one hit in .8, so the HAT will be less useful when assaulting emplacements.

Re: Please don't cripple the Stryker
I was part of the 172nd Stryker brigade combat team. I have been through 4 ieds one of which was an iranian EFP that put me in the hospital. I would like to point out something about the stryker.
1. Its not a humvee....it is faster than any of them
2. It not a tank....... its faster that ANY of them
3. Its turning radius is tighter than a humvee
4. It is extremely quiet
A real stryker at least the ICV and MCV-A,B,and C. has a driver (infantry guy) a commander (another infantry guy)and 9 other guys (infantry) riding in the back. So be careful how intensive you make the operation of the digital version.
