Hmm.. not 100% sure what you need to do now..
But what would be a good idea is to post a wireframe of it so we can get rid of some of those unneeded polygons
To give you an idea of the current ingame ones.. this is the MEC helmet so you can see how many/few they have used.. I know that computers have increased in performance power since BF2 was released, but it would be a bit wierd for a helmet to stand out by having 2-4X the level of detail of all other helmets
If you arent able to get hold of a soldier model to test the straps on, I can supply you with the model if you tell me what formats blender can import.
(the same goes for the helmets if you need them for reference)
If not you can get away with having them hang from the helmet or something
