Civlian Pick-up kits possible?
Would it be possible to make pick-up kits that only civies can pick up? That is they would be invisible to regular combat infantry, But only visible to civies. Is it possible or not?

hey that isn't a bad suggestion, we know that the game is coded so that civis cannot pick up guns/use guns on vehicles. So can they pick up "the collaborator" kit or somthing?
Might be an interesting way to use the kit...but yeah...very abstract suggestion

IMO, I'd like to see the civilian kit divided. Allow me to explain.
Each aspect of the Civilian kit would be a separate kit picked up in-game at mapper placed spots (most likely houses).
Basic Civilian - Spawns as this version. Has nothing what so ever. Essentially MUST find a "Improvised Civilian" kit (most will be right next to spawn, but varies from spawn point to spawn point)
Violent Civilian - Carries the rocks
Caring Civilian - Carries the Field Dressings
Spotter Civilian - Carries the Binoculars/Grapple
Construction Worker - Carries the wrench
Each kit would allow the civilians to help the team in one way, but ONLY that way. So no longer will we have to worry about a civilian tossing rocks at you, then climbing a building, or having one healing and attacking at the same time.
This would require the Civilian to stick to a single role and help the team in that way and also make the player think more because of their disadvantages and advantages...instead of just simply being a "meat-shield".
Other than these changes the civilian rules would be exactly the same.

Could be requestable, since theres no requestable kits for the INS as of now. SO you wouldnt spam it with other stuff ohers would have to skip over.
Id like to see the current civi duties split up into more than one civi kit, like some have said. Not every civilian is a doctor/mechanic/avid bird watcher
Could be cool, could maybe even make these things requestable from a certain "house" static found in ME style maps
I mean a building already modelled. Maybe the larger two story enterables[stairs on the side] where you can go up the stairs to the roof from the inside.

id like to see an ammo guy too
in 0.8 meds dont need da powered defib so we could basically have a reviving type civi too (surgeon, maybe requestable as 2 for the entire team...

What would be really sweet if in some of the houses there was a revolver lying around that the civs could pick up,But once they do they are classified as hostile and can be killed without point loss

i cant imagine anyone would really wanna pick up a civi kit that only has rocks, i mean they are basically useless.
what i would really like to see is a civi kit with binos and an IED, that looked the same as any other civi kit. i guess you could call it a "triggerman" civi kit. this way you could lay down a IED, but if your spotted the brits/US whatever wont be able to shoot you because, like in real life, they wont know what your up too as your just a "civilian" and you can keep watch over your IED with binos, which i think the current IED insurgent should have anyway.

Charlie, basically you're talking about making the Ambusher look like a civilian, which has been discussed many times. I support it, but I don't think this is the right thread for that.
Divided Civilian roles is ok, but it would make the civilian kit even less attractive. However, red murder's idea sounds great. I seriously don't understand why Civilians cannot pick up kits, if they decide they want to become OPFOR, let them. (Unless it has something to do with the punish system)

Completely agree with all that. It would be great if they can pick up other kits too.
It would be even better if civs were removed. (they are very unrealistic)

I do like the idea of a pick up medic/surgeon. Maybe just 1 per map.
