Hey Read.
Could you provide me a that low poly model and small tip how did you model the the helmet. Maybe even about the headset.
PM me.
Will try the M4, maybe bad model worth of trying.

Re: [Textures] US Army Kit Geometry [WIP]
Ah, thanks..
done a bit of research on this.. seems that the kit geometry is skinnedmesh after all.. my bad with the confusion. only problem is the rigging/weighting aspect of it.. but we will take that when it comes.
like you pointed out in your mail, it dosnt seem like it was exported correctly.. the .obj file has nothing in it
I dont know blender that well, but try again when you get home

Yeah, I was riding to work this morning and realized I hadn't selected the helmet when I selected 'Export'. Silly me. Anyways, the whole Skinnedmesh thing sounds intriguing. Asigning heavier weights = less jiggle?
I'll email you the .obj in about 6 hrs, but I probably won't have any updates on this until Monday evening.
Everyone: Keep the suggestions coming, kit specific things too. If someone wants to figure out how spare SRAW and Javeline missles are carried/stored, I would appreciate it greatly.

Yes, if this turns out well I'd like to do kit geometries for all factions (Including Insurgents).SGT.JOKER wrote:perhaps USMC also? or would they be keeping the older models?

If I could throw in a suggestion real quick, you might want to add NVGs onto each of the models as a different set to be used on night maps. Just a thought.

Yeah, if night maps become a common thing I will definitely do this.BetterDeadThanRed wrote:If I could throw in a suggestion real quick, you might want to add NVGs onto each of the models as a different set to be used on night maps. Just a thought.

Read if you are interested in the future, IDF needs new kits on the EU models because the ones IDF uses in real are very different to the ones we currently have, we just different vests then all factions ingame.

Read, looks good. Keep at it

Well, that is how I originally made it, but when I modeled the ESS goggles there were compatibility issues, so I had to rework the top edge. If you check out the Shemagh that the Brit player models wear, their noses are uncovered too.[R-CON]THE.FIST wrote:this face covering material --shouldn't he also cover the nose?
ZEZZ- Yeah, I'd be delighted to work on community faction kits. If you'd like to start compiling reference pictures of specific gear, and sorting that according to kits, that would be awesome. I hope to finish the models for the US Army kits in late September when I'm back from my honeymoon, so I probably won't do any other work until then.

The IOTV? I'm not at home right now, so I don't have access to any of the files.Grinch wrote:Id like to see plate carrier Readmenace.
I forgot to get back to you about importing the player model. File>Import>Wavefront(.obj) then select the file.
