I just thought of this after I got car jacked for 100th time and got driven out to die as always: why not make it so the driver and the .50 cal gunner of a jeep have to be in the same squad?
No special kits, they just need to be in the same squad.
Would prevent random blue lemmings stealing your only defense and transport however I'm not sure what to do if the .50 cal gunner is the commander.
I support this idea IF it's possible to do so that the driver has to be in the same squad as the .50 cal guy, not the other way around.
So basically, the driver needs to be the one who dies if they are on a different squad. Has a potential for abuse like someone jumping on the .50 cal at the main base so no one can use the truck etc. but if it's done the other way then it won't solve the problem.
It is the soldier, not the priest, who protects freedom of religion; the soldier, not the journalist, who protects freedom of speech.
Actually, you know what I would like better, if EVERYONE in the light vehicles had to be in the same squad as the driver or whoever got in first. It would complicate things a lot and cause problems but I think that's the way it should be instead of random people getting rides together out to where ever. When people do that then that is when you end up with zero organization and lone wolves and stuff. Those types of vehicles should be separated by squad.
It's still a transport vehicle so I think the blue mob should be able to sit in the back, sometimes you need to get someone else to somewhere in a jeep.
Yea! But if you do this than you cant pick up a few random guys and transport them to safety or a flag. Its a cool suggestion and its already in use in APC's and the likes right?
Is it? Yesterday on Ejod my squad picked up 2 snipers heading in to the city. They assisted us capping the citys by picking off important targets. I know these things wont happen that much but at least now theres a chance of that happening
That'd be a good idea, but the whole-squad idea doesn't do it for me. It's still project reality, and I can't imagine why someone would not be able to hop in a humvee driving by
If you have room in the Humvee, why in sam hill should you not give a blue hitchhiker a ride?
But agreed@Driver/Gunner needing to be in the same squad. I was actually TK'd once, and the guy that did it stole my humvee and drove my FULL squad to their deaths.(not driving off a cliff, but into an OBVIOUS hotspot)
ZOCOM Squad Leader/Heavy Weapons Specialist ZOCOM is a 3 man team, looking for team play with eachother, and other people. If you see the ZOCOM squad ingame, and you've got VOIP and wanna pitch in to the squad, join up.

yeah when attacking i would like as much help as possible just as long as all my squad are in the jeep i dont mind a few blues coming as long as its a non stealth mission because you cant really tell blues to hold fire.

I don't really like the idea, cause it could be really easy for a squad to never get transport. I mean, if this was done for the land rover, then it should be done to all the vehicles. In which case we get more transportation problems. I thought the jeeps and such were supposed to be easy to access vehicles by anyone without limited kits.
