What do you think the BF2 creators must feel about PR

Post by ralfidude »

After seeing what 0.8 looks like, by a group of modders that did this for free at their spare time, if i was one of the creators of bf2, i would have shi*ted my pants already, sobbed till i drank my problems away, then called a hooker if they could afford one to try and make themselves feel appreciated at all.

:)

Just another good job goes out to the devs then.

(The again, if BF2 creators never made BF2, we wouldnt be playing PR, so i guess they were just a stepping stone to something much much bigger and better.)

bf2 developers would consider this mod NOT what they want for bf2... if they designed bf2 like PR they would of failed in there aim, they looking to make a game for the MASSES , of which they did and archived...

It is true the BF2 Devs said that they didn't want to make a realism game, they wanted....wel....bf2 and would leave this kind of stuff to modders.

But I have to agree that I doubt that they thought PR would reach this point or this level or high quality

what we are doing would not be possible without dice, they have some very talented people working over there to think and create all of this stuff in the first place then allow it to be played by the majority.

we are just tinkering with their baby, adding new bits ( breast enlargement ) and introducing her to new things

gazz i was just reffering to the fact that the game looks absolutely amazing right now, nothign like bf2 at all at this point. They wouldnt make this type of game cuz not alot of ppl would play on the scale they play bf2.
Take arma for example. Although alot of ppl play it it does not have NEARLY as many people playing daily as BF2.

In anycase, it was mainly a direct WOW DEVS U GUYS ARE DOING GREAT kind of comment.

PS: Like i said in my first PS, it wouldnt be possible without the BF2 creators in the first place, so lets give em a clap or two, but the full monty for the devs.

Doubt they'd care much. They've made their money and moved on, created the game they wanted and it sold. Its not like PR is capable of releasing a full game on its own, and even if they were to do so it wouldn't be aimed at the same target market, its not a game that would appeal to EA's typical core consumer.

Well EA and DICE are still making money off BF2. These mod teams have added some much content that made many users say they wouldn't get it. Upon the release of mods such as PR. POE2, EOD2, and FH2 many people have bought a copy of the game. I for example bought BF2 just to play PR because it looked so cool in 0.4. If it was not for PR I would not have bought BF2 and EA would not of robbed me for my money, the only time i ever played vBF2 was when I was downloading PR.

EA and DICE are loving these mod teams or treating there baby girl so well. :D Atleast some of them are. (Nickbond :p )

If I was EA/dice, I'd release a special "anniversary" edition of bf2 that included an extra disk containing all of the most popular mods.

Hey that would be good for every1, or at least they could put links to mods on the EA digital store.

Feel like the next PC release from DICE (BF series) would have RTS implementations...
I´ve visited DICE office in Stockholm, and yes, there are a lot of talent over there.

Any PR DEVS applied for job careers at DICE? ;)

I think the only reason why BF2 is 'still alive' is because of the fantastic mods out. PR, POE, PR, XWW2, PR, FH, PR, BF Pirates, PR,

Well Done guys!

People worked on that game. They got paid for it, but it's not like they were the people behind the counter selling the game. They put a lot of work into it, and I'd venture a guess that a lot of them like doing what they're doing. So, now they get to see their work still used and expanded by a solid community of dedicated modders and players. I dunno, but I'd think they'd at least feel proud of their work.
