Re: AGM-130 for Tornado
I prefer the jets as they are tbh, mainly because i've never got the chance to copilot a tornado or the chinese bomber alot because of lack of servers running it when i'm on. And when it is on, its usually already in the air anyway or dead....

No bombers can currently guide their own ordinance...

Re: AGM-130 for Tornado
A laser designator is a laser light source which is used to illuminate a target. Laser designators provide targeting for laser guided bombs, missiles, or precision artillery munitions, such as the Paveway series of bombs, Lockheed-Martin's Hellfire, or the Copperhead round, respectively. Laser designators may be mounted on aircraft, ground vehicles, or handheld.
The GR4 is also equipped with a Laser Ranger and Marked Target Seeker system that can be used for ground designation or can provide accurate range information on ground targets.
RAF - Tornado GR4The GR4 can carry up to three Paveway II, two Paveway III or Enhanced Paveway Laser and Global Positioning System Guided Bombs (LGBs), and by using a Thermal Imaging Airborne Laser Designation (TIALD) pod it is able to self-designate targets for LGB delivery. The GR4 also has a ground-mapping radar to identify targets for the delivery of conventional 1000lb bombs and BL755 cluster bombs.

Oh, my bad. I'd rather have the AGM-65 than the 130.

Re: AGM-130 for Tornado
Problem with this is if you make the jets too self sufficient and high tech e.g. lasing their own targets and stuff like that then it completly destroys the teamplay aspect of PR (Officer/SF lasing targets for Aircraft etc) and it will go back to vBF2 Aircraft combat. Which in my opinion we dont really want lol

Not if done correctly....
In fact I have a load of suggestions and ideas on the matter which I can´t be bothered to post because:
1) People in general don´t really care.
2) All I would get as response would be "oh to spammy and bad for gameplay, how could you suggest this tooo powerful etc" when they haven´t even thought about it.
Teamwork doesn´t have to be that someone lases, why is that a necessary component of teamwork? Why not break it down to "tanks can´t fire unless it is commander approved and the area is marked" because that is good for teamwork too?

I'm in big agreement with Alex6714 here, I think too many ideas are shunned because of "Teamplay" issues.

So does that mean we can get a 2 seat AWACS plane where the second seat has massive zoom, a FLIR option and a laser designator?

Re: AGM-130 for Tornado
I've been chatting with Alex on TS, lots of assets aren't given their true power because this is apparently solo-ing or destroys balance, and a few of these, such as here with LGBs should be thought of again.

Whats the point of having 2 people in a jet when one guy can do the exact same things? Why have 2 people in it, when the gunner cant control his missiles anyway?
Never argue with an idiot, he will just drag you down to his level and beat you by experience

Re: AGM-130 for Tornado
You are damn right. Not to mention,fighterbombers-fighters equipped with AGM missiles are formidable enemies, and they are supposed to have huge effect on outcome, hence the money spent on airforces, planes and their armanenet.o.And they only have 4 missiles,in PR,thats it.And u dont need any skill or experience to shoot them down from ground.Waaah_Wah wrote:Whats the point of having 2 people in a jet when one guy can do the exact same things? Re: AGM-130 for Tornado
OK. So people know that a blind version of Chuck Norris (GR4) is there whenever they need it, and could make their life a LOT easier. Yet they fail to say "GR4, annihilate this area. Here's a lase". Then the GR4 gets bored. This is why I am suggesting this is so the GR4 doesn't get bored of just flying around.
