Try turning your sound qulaity up to high i got some echoes on weapons other than the .50 cal when i did that.

I have pentium 4 3.0GHZ
ATI X850Xt
1.5GB ram
Onboard sound and it runs fine might be a differnt story when i get new speakers though,
