Back Blast
OK yeah I know that this has been suggested thousands of times but then I saw the OPK release log and it said
Pzfst3: backfire effect added (backfire zone has to be cleared)
So, maybe we could get some info from them about how to make this?

Re: Back Blast
It would be pretty easy to make a back blast for weapons. Add a shotgun type projectile with a short time to live, an effect to the rear of the weapon.DeltaFart wrote:OK yeah I know that this has been suggested thousands of times but then I saw the OPK release log and it said

Re: Back Blast
anyone ever had a backblast fight with rpg's in AA? This effect is also in Americas Army. Makes for some pretty funny tk's. Would be cool to have in PR.

Re: Back Blast
I don't think it's that easy as (I think) as a weapon can only fire one thing. Next to the AT rocket it has to fire the "shotgun blast" as you say (or "claymore blast" as suggested in another thread), but I don't think it's that easy to do it.Solid Knight wrote:It would be pretty easy to make a back blast for weapons. Re: Back Blast
Solid Knight, that is not possible. Even though his has been suggested over and over again I am going to leave it open to see what they have done over at OPK.

Re: Back Blast
I don´t think you can fire 2 projectiles at ones, nor can you use one of these force objects, same as the heli spin, only works on local not online.
But maybe there is a way to do it.

Re: Back Blast
Perhaps the shooter were laying down? Then they and pretty much everyone nearby will die.
And isn't it possible to make it like burst or something so the backblast or rocket comes slightly after the other one? Or can burst only be the same projectile in the same direction?

Re: Back Blast
Haven't PR got a working relationship with OPK? Could we not just ask them how they did it either way?
Has anyone seen the effect in action by the way? Does it work pretty well?

Re: Back Blast
Actually you can get more than one projectile to fire at once. I did it earlier in my helicopter where, for the sheer lulz of it, I added a Coaxial_Browning (PIFlareFire), set the main cannon to PIFire (default), set the wire guided missiles to (PIAltFire), and set my laser guided missiles to (PIAltFire)--the missiles were set to auto switch based on acquisition of target type. Everytime I shot the wire guided missiles a single round from my Coaxial_Browning would fire as well. It's probably a glitch but like I said, it can happen

Re: Back Blast
Interesting, if you could get it to link up that'd mean you could get the distinctive blast before projectile effect you seem to get from most these weapons.

Re: Back Blast
Upon further investigation you have to set up a lot of things to get this glitch to occur. Also, even if you blanked out the PIFire and the other PIAltFire projectiles you'd still be able to manually fire the backblast without having to launch the rocket. Not exactly realistic.

Re: Back Blast
Dont know if this can be implemented in game but I was in a small building behind a guy firing a LAT on Kokan and after he fired I was liek wait a minute I have heard stories in Iraq and the Stan where guys would seriously get insured because of standing in back of an AT4 in a building. I have heard similar stories of insurgents killing each other firing at troops in Fallujah like this...
The other day actually a guy in my unit told us a story when he was at MCT and the back blast of a AT4 hit some Marine like 20 feet away and still had enough force to send him rolling down a hill...
Is back blast possible in game? ? ? Can we add it if we are standing directly in back of one of these reconciles guns we start to bleed out?

Holy necro. Also, no, not possible. Read the bloody *** please. It's at the top of the page and it's red, so it should be easy to find.

Re: Back Blast
*** thread
In regards to the backblast of real world AT weapons, anything that is termed "recoilless" functions by canceling out the recoil of the munition firing by porting the blast force rearwards. Weapons such as the M136, M72, and RPG all fire in this manner.
The backblast created by these weapons is enough to kill or injure anyone in its path. Soldiers are trained to scan behind them prior to firing the weapon to ensure nobody is in the backblast zone, and yell out "Backblast Area Clear!" once the area has been cleared and just prior to firing. That yell is also a warning for everyone else in the area to duck, and ensure they don't suddenly run behind the gunner while he's not looking.
Several of the newer AT weapons have been redesigned to use a countermass, which absorbs the majority of the blast force and reduces its power. An example is the M136 AT-4 CS (Confined Space) model. These allow firing the weapon from inside structures safer than before, but do not fully remove the backblast effect.
Already suggested, and until someone can figure out how to implement it properly it will never happen.Backblast from Anti tank weapons
