When you see insurgents or Taliban on TV, with M16s or different kind Weston weapons (I.E. Famas from the French Army ambush) they have picked them up.

As Rhino said, if you want a L85A2 or a M4A1, then kill a enemy soldier and pick up their kit.

Me thinks this is better than my *crappy* idea. *I just love INS too much* :(

If you want a M16 or M4 or a L85, you kill a enemy and pick it up, which is the most realistic way.
Same deal with the G3, how many are actually captured in comparison to other weapons, enough to justify a spawn kit? I think that's a stretch. Why not make the RPG a spawn kit, it's in all the nice little pictures people have provided. I think the devs are looking for a cheap way to give the insurgents more ranged firepower without the work, and that's wrong for the Insurgency Game Mode.

Without the work? Please explain what work.

When you want a long range kit what do you do? You kill some dumb coalition soldier and take his rifle. A G3, even just an ironsights one is very accurate and very powerful. So instead of going out, ambushing a squad and reaping the reward of wiping them out, you just open the spawn menu and bam, instant long range rifle. No risk, no challenge, no work.

The only thing I don't like is the bayonet on the AK, I really don't like seeing bayonets on weapons.

dont see the problem, im no expert but the G3 was used in iran-iraq war , its also used by alot of middle eastern countries , also a quick google search if weapons caches brings up a fair few G3's/fnfals

And the M-16/M-4 was used in the Gulf War, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, but you don't see the devs leaping to put in an ironsight M-16 or M-4 in the spawn menu.

Is Insurgency really just about grabbing US/GB kits? I dont think so...

^ whatever man, insurgents don't get standard stuff, they get what they can get their hands on. In any case, in the PR-verse there is a MEC...and maybe they 'accidentally' let a few of their guns run astray...

I have seen some photos of captured weapons from Iraq about near two years ago with a G3 rifle.

There was also a report from on the BBC News web site about the Taliban getting weapons from Iran (Who didn't expect it...)

No, but giving them a main battle rifle of a faction like this doesn't fit the theme. The Devs have always argued against coalition weapon pickup kits saying if you want the gun, go kill someone and take their kit, now they want to give said rifle they were so opposed to giving us in limited pick up kits as a spawn kit. Insurgency may not be about stealing weapons from the coalition, but it is an integral part of the experience.

With that logic you might as well take away all Insurgent rifles, since AK47 was also used by conventional armies at one point

Ak-47s were flooded to the region in such numbers it is incalculable and makes light of the serious issue I am raising. I have no opposition to the G3 being provided to insurgents in limited numbers, but to make it a spawn kit is a mistake.

The spawn times are the same? (2 minutes for Collaborators?!?)
Coalition can still revive 90 % of their "losses"?
Ak sights -fixed ?

PPsh would be nice

AK sights are fixed i think, G3 sights are also improved iirc.

I agree about the PPsh. Or at least a pistol for the cell leader.
