Rate of Fire on Semi automatic guns
I KNOW there was a topic in the feedback section of the forums, but my question was not answered there, and i didn't feel like bumping it.
Will the rate of fire be increased when you let's say switch to semi auto on any gun, or a pistol or and SKS? Any gun that is semi automatic, there is a firing delay between each shot, I know some people said to not click ur mouse really fast, and you'll fire faster, but it's still slow. Most semi automatic guns/pistols if not all, can be fired at an extremely fast rate of fire if you pull the trigger quickly. I find this especially frustrating in close quarter combat, when im clicking my mouse frantically, but, i fire only so fast. In RL the rate of fire is much higher. I know this might have been done to "slow down gameplay" but I think it needs to be sped up to how it was in .75.
The question is, will the fire rate be sped up for .85?

Re: Rate of Fire on Semi automatic guns
You can't have a different fire rate per firing mode unless you split the weapon into an auto and semi version.

Re: Rate of Fire on Semi automatic guns
the question is why would other than in CQB want this?
deviation you get from repetion of fire from a semi-auto is terrible unless your within 10ft on your enemy.
and personally i find it at a good enough rate as it is.

IIRC DEVs said that the ROF will be higher for pistols and other semi auto weapons in 0.85

Re: Rate of Fire on Semi automatic guns
To answer your question. None other than CQB would want this. I'm getting at the point that CQB would what this. For LONG range encounters, go ahead and fire at a slow rate. Increasing rate of fire would not affect the way the gun handles accuracy wise at long range. It's up to the player. The player can fire just as fast as he does in long range encounters in .8 while in CQB we can get fast rate of fire. Understand? It all depends on how fast YOU click the mouse.Gu^n3r wrote:the question is why would other than in CQB want this?

@ Outlawz, I don't understand what your saying... What was wrong with the way it was in .75?

Well, the ROF was too high. You cant press a trigger as fast as you can click a tiny mouse button. That was to be represented. And I hope they keep a delay, even if a bit faster.

IIRC I was told that the delay is there because of the firing animations.

Can you find one where someone is holding an actual assault rifle and firing it that fast? Or even better, a soldier doing that.Waaah_Wah wrote:Say what?

A normal M9 holds 15 rounds. That thing looks more like a 93R.
And yes, the video description says M9.

Re: Rate of Fire on Semi automatic guns
Its not full auto, that's a semi AR he's shooting. The point is that IRL you can shoot a semi at ROF's approaching full auto, just as fast as you can click your mouse, er I mean pull your trigger you can shoot. Any delay built into the game is not realistic.

Re: Rate of Fire on Semi automatic guns
where did i ask if it did? i said that firing faster aint going to help unless within 10ft, when the enemy is usally 20m away at least.M_Striker wrote:Increasing rate of fire would not affect the way the gun handles accuracy wise at long range.
if its up to the player why ask for an "increase" in fire rate, shouldnt your finger be enough? maybe do some finger exercises to increase its muscle mass maybe. It's up to the player.
that makes no sense, anyone else understand this? The player can fire just as fast as he does in long range encounters in .8 while in CQB we can get fast rate of fire.
where did he say anything about 0.75?@ Outlawz, I don't understand what your saying... What was wrong with the way it was in .75?
he means you cant have 2 fire rates for single fire obviously, you would need 2 fire rates as exactly like the M16.

Re: Rate of Fire on Semi automatic guns
Waaah, is it just a coincidence that both of those men are using HiPoints?
I agree that there should be no delay in firing semi-automatic weapons, on the other hand, I wouldn't expect you to hit anything that isn't directly in front of you. If people want to spazz-out and pull their triggers as fast as they can, that's fine, but disciplined fire will still tear them apart.

I think that some people (outlawz) don't under stand is that the OP is asking for the delay before firing to be shorted.
