No it doesn't, but it's still not acceptable, and it's also against the forum rules.Waaah_Wah wrote:It still doesnt make him any less right...

Re: The Chinook and Vehicles
Yeah, forgot about THAT problem... that'd be a cool way round it, would look funny as owt seeing a Chinook hovering then suddenly having a landy appear under it from nowhere. Problem with that might end up being that as a weapon, it's not actually part of the Chinook's hitboxes. So it'd be a bit pointless other then to signify that the particular Chinook was worth shooting down a bit more, even though they'll probably always end being loaded with a vehicle if that was the case. Good thinking despite that anyway.

It'd be no greater problem than a Huey dropping a supply crate from high up.AnRK wrote:Yeah, forgot about THAT problem... that'd be a cool way round it, would look funny as owt seeing a Chinook hovering then suddenly having a landy appear under it from nowhere. Agreed. A little buggy should definetly be able to either get in the back or "poof" out like Supply crates.

Re: The Chinook and Vehicles
He was suggesting having the vehicle work the same way as a bomb on a plane, so a landrover or whatever would be modelled as a kind of armament, which (I'm not too sure) probably wouldn't work out with the hitboxes. So you'd have a ghost landy underneath the thing.Tirak wrote:It'd be no greater problem than a Huey dropping a supply crate from high up.
The other issue wasn't the dropping of vehicles, is that if they're reloadable then they will most likely get littered all over the map, which might also end up causing lag if it gets really silly.
Not sure if this can be done, but perhaps a way round that might be to clone the landy/whatever else might be used also, and give it a reasonable expiry time, say if it's not used in say 10 minutes, it'll blow up ala vanilla. Unlike everything else which seems to have been coded to have none, or a really insane amount that's for all intensive purposes not gonna run out.

Yes, and that is not possible unfortunately with the BF2 engine, the BF Vietnam engine was capable, but not the BF 2

Re: The Chinook and Vehicles
mm sounds like a good idea, sholud be dropped either below 15meter height or when landed. otherwise it might damage it or be used the wrong way...

Re: The Chinook and Vehicles
Why not have the Chinook be bale to "PARA" Drop Creats out the back as well as drop them normal? That would be a big + for troops who need supplies and are in an area were choppers cant reach
