Re: A-10 loadout
A10 should have 38 hydras anyway.

Actually, what I meant to post but forgot, why can't you see laser designations unless you're in the bomb or LGM view? It is still extremely usefull to see a laser designation from an SL if you only want to use rockets (say against enemy infantry). Can this not be implemented on all planes? It would be extremely good, like in attack choppers, when you want to see enemy heat signatures but not lock onto them, you simply switch HUDs to the flare only one.

Yes alex it should have 38 hydras, also is it possible to make the damage spread more instead of having the GAU-8 hit and like a 2 foot radius, in real life its like 40 feet.

Re: A-10 loadout
I have added the laser objects to attack and scout heli pilots view to designate hydras and such if they were implemented. Could do as you say on A10 I expect, don´t know if for 0.85, maybe.McLuv wrote:Actually, what I meant to post but forgot, why can't you see laser designations unless you're in the bomb or LGM view? I think the gau-8 is fine, hard to simulate the distance it fires at irl and such. But thats not my job and even less my decision.

He means you'll see the laser coordinates as a pilot so you can unleash you're hydras and suchmp5punk wrote:ok what you mean by you have added the laser objects to attack and scout helis pilot view? whats that mean?
That's good, thanks Alex. Op Bara will be even better for CAS with this implemented.

Re: A-10 loadout
Heh, if it's halved then wouldn't it have "675" rounds? Also, is it true that the name of the gun on the A10 has been changed to M61? I never payed attention to that...[R-CON]Alex6714 wrote:It has a realistic number of cannon rounds in PR, it is halved on the hud though because iirc batches are used (ROF problems). In other words, it ends up firing almost exactly the same amount of rounds.
Chaff is not needed in PR since, well, there aren´t different enough types of target object to simulate radar etc missiles.
I may change the hud, although it can´t be as you say in the video exactly, because the engine won´t allow it. However better it can be.![]()

Re: A-10 loadout
Might be an offtopic question, but has anyone ever used a GTLD to laze a target for a scout helo? like the AH6? Since Alex said he finally added the laser designations to the scout/attack helo views, this might be viable for Ramiel and Qwai or any other map with small attack helos.

only on the main view (default "1"). Dunno why, but on every other view it's fine and says GAU-8M_Striker wrote:Heh, if it's halved then wouldn't it have "675" rounds? Also, is it true that the name of the gun on the A10 has been changed to M61? I never payed attention to that...![]()

....dude that's amazing. I've always wanted that in PR, and that could actually help the pilot know what his gunner is shooting at...'[R-CON wrote:Alex6714;888163']
not to mention, more kills for the pilot...

Re: A-10 loadout
Never noticed that, though as an attack chopper pilot I'm not usually looking at the ground like that (because I'm usually with unfamiliar gunners who need complete stability), unless I"m in the single seater. And in that case, no one ever gives laser targets because it isn't expected to have that view.'[R-CON wrote:Alex6714;888163']

Re: A-10 loadout
One thing I really don't like is how you can always use the cannon, for example
someone is lasing a target for you and instead of firing the missile you fire the cannon
into the "target box". A10 has enough ammo atm to kill all MEC heavy assets without
landing - you want more?
I am all for the realistic load outs just do it for both sides -that's all.
In other words don't forget to beef up the Frog Foot if A-10 is getting the "extras".

Well its more with gunship hueys and LBs in mind but helps the attack helo pilots a bit also. Maybe you only want a hydra run on some infantry as an example, or muttrah as said.McLuv wrote:Never noticed that, though as an attack chopper pilot I'm not usually looking at the ground like that (because I'm usually with unfamiliar gunners who need complete stability), unless I"m in the single seater. Edit: Lol, of course, I am not leaving only with it on A10 or Apache.

Yup, I'll have to look out for that in the future[R-CON]Alex6714 wrote:Well its more with gunship hueys and LBs in mind but helps the attack helo pilots a bit also. Maybe you only want a hydra run on some infantry as an example, or muttrah as said.
What are the chances of it happening on jets for 0.85?
