Finally figured out what bugged me about the repair crates

why not just have an ambulance drop a healing crate for a squad?

(not a suggestion, a rhetorical question)

Because you can get bandages off of a supply crate anyway?

If there was a way to make 'field bandages' for vehicles that needed to be reloaded (unlike the wrench) I bet the devs would have figured it out?

NO. They will be hijacked by rambo when he decides he wants to go to the enemy flag and doesn't want to join a squad and get in the stryker with everyone else.

he can teamkill squadleaders and steal other vehicles too. you can't make a system restriction against grievers.

We will see how that goes. Maybe we will need to add some limitations if it gets abused.

I hate to be an *** for asking this but:

Lets say that this IS abused, exactly how long would we have to wait for a fix? Strictly because I doubt you guys would waste your valuable time making an update for one little thing. Would we have to wait for enough problems to arise for a true patch to come out? Just curious is all.

Thanks for your time.

This can be added server-side, no updates needed in the client.

Oh come on guys, with the jeeps being removed i'm almost 100% that this will be abused in public servers, just imagine a sniper in the main base, without transport, 1 supply truck left then he aksks himself what should i do?Should i walk 15min to get to my target, or should i take the supply truck with me who can ressuply my rifle if i run out of ammo?

They could add TTL -"self destruct" - like on Mutrah.
Once a (certain) vehicle is "left" somewhere for X minutes -it blows up.
I don't really like it but what can you do; other then kick vote the retards.

One logistik change I do agree with tho is to have more "jeeps" and less supply trucks.

the Logistics sound cool, but how much time it will take to repair a vehicle? and except clicking X, does an engineer have to get out and stand near the repair thing or something?

and why no more jeeps? jeeps are great

Engineer is a limited kit replacing spec ops and getting its C4 back and does nothing with regards to repairing vehicles. Anyone can drop the crate from the logistics truck.

Jeeps are used like blasty suicide mad rush cars, I'm glad to see them toned down a lot, though I wouldn't mind getting back 1 per FOB.

i certainly wont be spending my time driving trucks to and from the main.

BUUUUT as a guy who likes camping roads with IEDs or RPGs, ambushes behind enemy lines are going to be SO much more rewarding! especially now that the trucks will only be able to carry two instead of a squad

Danny, these logistik truck are not even for engineer only... Anyone will be able to drive them away.

Sad you never played with any smart players... We did and "jeeps" are very nice. Anyway, it stays for Insurgency atleast (btw, hopefully there'll be more jeeps then supply trucks on insurgency).

Actually, I do not really disagree with the idea of having APC instead of "jeeps" on AAS but hopefully there will be atleast 1 for each squad because I will never want my squad APC to leave us on the field and go taxi another squad... Way to screw mechanised infantry and armor support...

To resume, I love most 0.85 changes but Logistik Trucks and ingeneer not allowed to repair anymore... I think these 2 points will be the two most problematic things in-game.

It'll be a "run for it" race to find a logistik truck and a smart driver for it. Or there will be none on the field due to it being destroyed OR people will use it as taxi OR smart and lucky squad will have one of these follow them to drop a repair crate instead of having an ingeneer repair them...
