Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
Needed to relax after my exam today (I know Rhino and HZ, I should be doing your stuff instead -_-, hehe)
So I made a quick little sci-fi environment. Textures are pretty much generated from baked normals and AO's of "high" polys.

So the tris are down to a minimum as the wireframe on the right reveals.

Couldnt help myself, had to do a little more while I was at it.
All textures are still WIP.

Alright, I'll get back to working on my next exam and some PR stuff instead.

not complicated model, but i decided to texture it...

and failed

i made UV, then this simple texture and got stuck, need to use normal maps and specular, add some mud and scratches but I'm a total noobzor and dont know how to do it(never used photoshop

remove the half the the edges connected to the center of the front of the rocket , the will make quads instead of triangles
and chamfer the tip of the fins to also revove those triangles

Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
dont think so, you can use polys with 3 or 4 vertices, so trianles are not bad) AFAIK 4 vertice polys automatically divided into 2 triangle(because GFX cards works with triangles), when you have more than 4 vertices, there are different variants in dividing into triangles and it becomes a problemHowitzer wrote:so that it don't mess with turbosmooth , and triangles are bad![]()
maybe smbd of experienced modelers can say his word
