Deviation

Post by Cassius »

In real life firefights arent usually resolved with half a clip killing the entire squad, however it was equally ridiculous that in 0.8 a marine wouldnt hit over 70m or so although having aimed for a considerable time.

Therefore here is my suggestion, merge the 2 deviation systems. Make the deviation of the standard issue rifle after a set up time of 1 sec and a pause of 1 sec between shots the same as it was in 0.8 and maximum accuracy the way it is in the curren version, after a set up time of 3 sec and a pause of 3 sec between shots, or something like that.

That way you do not have instant lazors, but when you aim you dont have the feeling the marines traded ammo for beer with the german army either.

Well within 100m or so you put the crosshair on the head and you hit I guess.

I dunno, I never thought of that as much of a problem; 100m is not very far. Plus, I seem to always miss my first shot anyway, the settle time from moving is still really long I think.

The deviation now I find fits perfectly.

I agree that the rifles should be less accurate on great ranges, I had a squadmember shoot a sniper on the Muttrah hotel with his G3 from 502m away. :|

The G3 must have been luck or maybe u did not doublecheck and it was a marksman. Iam not saying to make them less accurate period, just make them V0.8 accurate with 1 sec settle time or so and give maximum accuracy the way we have it in game only after about 3 - 4 sec.

In 0.8 you couldnt snipe a stationary 0.5 gunner with a standard rifle out of a range of 50m after having kept your crosshair on him for an eternity. That can happen if you bring ur weapon up and shoot, but not if you aim properly.

Iron sights are the new snipers.

I don't know what yall did to the iron sights that's made then so good at long range but I know for a fact I can line up a shot and kill a target at 400+ meters and kill them faster then the marksman in my squad its sad.

AHH!!!..no one can agree on deviation....including me

i think its fine now..but it should be slightly(like the slightest ever possible) less accurate

Meh.... this deviation is only perfect for CQB with the fact that you can actually hit people upclose without a round going vertical when you point it at the guy. The long-range however, is affected by this and now we are almost getting laser-rifles which isn't exactly "realistic."

I can has ballistics? *nudges crasyasian*

US Marines in real life are trained to hit targets at 500m with ironsights.

Is that with people shooting at them? Or at a rifle range where all they are trying to do is to qualify for expert marksman every year?

Qualifying, I'm just saying it's not impossible to hit a target at that range.

Obviously. You can't even see people beyond, what? 400m in-game? And after that, they are just pixels.

Anyways, like I said... ballistics please?

Please, don't change it... deviation in 0.85 is something I've been waiting for a long time.
